This Medinose Plus unit is a clinically proven method of phototherapy that inhibits the release of histamine by the body. By using natural light therapy, the treatment is drug free and there are no side effects. Ideal for the relief of allergic rhinitis conditions such as hayfever.

Each treatment takes just 4-5 minutes, 3 times a day to desensitise the nasal membrane. The Medinose can be used conveniently at home, at work or when travelling. If symptoms are severe more treatments can be used without danger, and as symptoms subside treatments can be reduced.

The unit is also effective for allergy prevention. Clinical double-blind randomized trials have been undertaken and the researchers concluded:

"Allergic rhinitis, if uncomplicated by polyps or chronic sinusitis, can be effectively treated by narrow-band red light illumination of the nasal mucosa at 660 nm, with marked alleviation of clinical symptoms."

The Medinose has an automatic shut-off after each treatment, and the easily changed batteries are sufficient for around 100 treatments. The unit emits light in the red spectrum but this is cold and not a warm light!

No more antihistamines!

I have been using the Medinose for my hayfever over the the past few months and am glad it hs been listed on this site to allow me to review it.

I have had great results and noticed the benefits from the first time I used it. I get really bad hayfever from mid-May and was already suffering badly when I bought this gadget. After the first days use (3 x 5 min treatments) I felt much relief from all of my symptoms (sneezing, itching, running nose etc).

Obviously using the machine is not as simple as popping an antihistamine pill once a day but I prefer to avoid drugs as much as possible and was actually finding antihistamines less and less effective, which prompted my search for alternatives in the first place. But what is 15 minutes out of a day to have drug-fre hayfever relief? You simply insrt the nasal attachments into your nostrils and switch on the machine (a bit weird at first!).

I have found I have been able to reduce to wo treatments per day and maintain hayfever free for the past few weeks.

If you want an alternative to antihistamines that really works I ecommend the Medinose. I tried other natural treatments such as herbal eye drops and nasal sprays and none were very helpful. The medinose really does work and only costs the same as you might spend on other remedies over a hayfever season!
