Beyond Ground Zero
...for those whose health was damaged by the events of 9/11
On April 22, 2008 a federal appeals court ruled that Christine Todd Whitman, former chief of the Environmental Protection Agency is not liable for lying to the public about the dangers of breathing the toxic air in lower Manhattan and near by surrounding areas due to the aftermath of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
The Second U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan declared that because Whitman’s statements that the air is safe came from “conflicting information” she received from the White House, she is not responsible for the outcome.
Then who is? Sounds familiar?
Maybe there is a trend going on in government, as in, “I voted for the war due to conflicting information from the White House.
Simple pass the buck and your hands are clean.
Thus, we, the sick, the dead, the dying, the unemployed and underemployed and the bankrupted, people of America who became as such due to the Environmental Protection Agency advice must continue to beg for medical care and retribution in the form of simple rights such as disability, worker’s compensation, early medical retirement, etc.
The April 22 ruling is a devastating blow to us who need a legal leg to stand for our requests to end the suffering of September 11th 2001. A day I would like to see the sun set on.
God Bless America.
