Description

The health of the fecal microflora is vital to the health of the entire body - recent research is making this extremely clear. Those with environmental illnesses almost always have imbalanced gut flora (gut dysbiosis). The best probiotic we have right now, as unpleasant as it sounds, is the fecal matter of a healthy donor. This group is intended for members to share techniques for performing 'fecal transplants' at home in an effort to improve the health of their gut ecosystem and thus their health as a whole. The procedure is also known as 'fecal bacteriotherapy' and 'human probiotic infusion (HPI)'.

Hi Maff, I want to try HFT using both enemas and capsules at the same time like you, but I'm wondering which capsules to get. Do you have a link to the capsules that worked for you? Some capsules that I've looked at online have said they can't hold liquids because they'll dissolve, but it looks like you were able to get the capsule method to work. Did you ever have any issues with the capsules dissolving? I'll use the biggest size I can find which is 000. Did you ever find any size bigger than this? Also, I'd rather use capsules with an enteric coating but can't find any of these to buy. Have you come across any enteric coated capsules? If not, did you use Gel caps or Veg caps? Thanks!

Just an update on this post which was 7 months ago. Yes it was SIBO and it took drinking HPI to fix it. Depraved and disgusting I know but I thought I was dying so it didn't seem so bad in comparison. It has taken 6 months of 'maintenance' HPI, fresh or frozen most days, during which time my PH has remained normal and I have been free of the acidity and streptococcus symptoms that tormented me. I have now been without HPI for 4 weeks without a return of strep symptoms or low PH. My digestive system has been left in turmoil in other respects and no doubt there's still some mild dysbiois there, but the major bacterial problem is gone. I'm not leaving anything to chance and plan to do HPI monrhly until my other digestive problems resolve. A Warning to the uninitiated: Do not drink HPI if you have low stomach acid as you could make your SIBO worse. If you have normal stomach acid (which will require a test) or excess stomach acid the risk is lower. See other discussions in this forum for pre-HPI testing protocol and precautions or my blog http://thepowerofpoo.blogspot.com.au/

Hi Jamison, I don't mind at all. Thanks for the feedback! It sounds like you are working with an excellent doctor there. I actually had misgivings about the second round of EPD before the horrible results as the official EPD instruction booklet does state not to give the shots until any gut dysbiosis has been satisfactorily treated. My experience illustrates just how seriously this advice should be taken! I think my doctor had assumed my dysbiosis was treated and/or did not place much importance on it...

Hey Deedee, thanks for responding. how did you discover the mold infection? What are you taking for it? Did you find the book to have new info unavailable online? What are your thoughts about Dr. Rochlitz? I emailed him some questions about some info in one of his articles and his response was quite short and seemed to not to want to be bothered. Sort of turned me off since I had purchased the first copy of his allergy book which offered no help on what to actually do to erradicate bacteria which he claimed to be responsible for allergies. His response was to buy the new book. UGH.

thanks Maff for the info and link. I came across a very old article (British Medical Journal1913)discussing streptoccal infections of the gut..(or just an abundance of strep bacteria in the feces) and the symptoms matched my own. This particular paper noted a high cure rate using autogenous vaccines. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC2299096/pdf/brmedj07279-0012.pdf Do you know anything about autogenous vaccines for gut infections? This was my first time reading about it and I was very amazed at the cure rate. Is this being done today by any chance? Also wanted to ask where you found info on streptococcal infections being related to insomnia? thanks again!

What a great idea Tracy! Thank you for starting this list on your blog. I don't know any additional providers of HPI (non-C. diff) off the top of my head but if I come across any I'll be sure to post them here. I am sure the list will grow quite quickly as the importance of healthy gut ecology to health gains further recognition and HPI becomes more mainstream.
