Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know how to get rid of candida in the ear. My ear is inflamed inside and itchy. There are white spots on the ear drum.
Here's the background:
I've been battling an ear infection for over 6 months now. I saw my Naturapath and it was beyond something that could be helped with herbs (it was a bad, middle ear infection). I took a short course of antibiotics (I already take probiotics and I took a massive amount after the antibiotic treatment).
I still had problems after a couple months, so my naturapath took another look. I now had black spots in my ear and there were still traces of the middle ear infection. We flushed it with a hydrogen peroxide mix. The spots were blood.
Another doctor did ozone treatments in my ear. After still having problems, my naturapath took a look last week. I don't have any signs of a middle ear infection anymore or black dots, but she said that I have candida in there.
I tried putting the oil from a thorne sf722 capsule in it, but it just burned and itched like I was being tortured.
Any suggestions to get rid of candida in the ear would be greatly appreciated.
By the way, I already know about anti-candida diets.
Thanks,
Airy

Hello,
There is something very easy you can do and it would take care of any form of ear infection - bacterial or fungal. They do this in France. You put a couple drops of lavender essential oil on some cotton ball and put it in your ear; you can keep it all night long and all day long, changing the cotton once in a while. Whenever I have ear problems, I do this, it works.
If you suspect yeast infection in the ear, you could try tea tree oil or eucalyptus oil which have more antifungal properties. Good luck.

Thanks. I have some tea tree on hand.
I tried putting cotton in my ear, but my ear is so inflamed, it irritated it like crazy, so I'll try a couple of drops of oil.
Update: I tried a couple drops of tea tree oil. I'm usually fine with tea tree on my skin, but my ear didn't like it (pain, itching and burning soon followed). I flushed my ear out with warm water which got most of it out).
I think my naturapath has run out of idea too.
Any other ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Airy,
Essential oils are a good idea but they can be very irritating on the skin so it is best to use them diluted. You could try regularly rinsing your ear with diluted tea tree, garlic, or clove oil...all of which are potently antifungal.
Have you been to your regular (allopathic) doctor about this? It is very important to take care with your ears as their internal anatomy is very fragile. You don't want to end up with permanent damage (and resulting potential for hearing loss) either from infection itself or from treatments you are trying yourself. You need to be referred to an ear, nose and throat (ENT) specialist.

Hi Maff,
Thanks for the comments. I also got a suggestion for oregano oil from a friend. I agree that the essential oils are definitely too strong when used \"as is\" from this last experience.
Yes, I saw an allopathic doctor. He thought it was the eustacian tubes and has me rinse with my head tilted back with sinus solution (basically salt and baking soda) by squirting up my nose. He didn't see anything wrong inside my ear, but it definitely hurts in there. I think he just didn't know what to do since I had already done antibiotics.
My insurance is an HMO, so it can be difficult to see a specialist (I can't even find an ENT listed in the directory).
Tonight I rinsed my ear with a little powdered probiotics mixed with slightly warm water. My ear feels a bit better, but I don't know if it was just the water soothing it.
I think I'll give this a week of rinsing every night (along with taking Thorne SF722 internally). If I'm not doing better by then, I'm going to insist on seeing an ENT or the closest equivalent with my insurance.
Do ENTs got by any other titles or is there a similar type of doctor that I can request?
