Hi Maff,

I am taking 5 minutes for a quick reply.

I talk to my environmentalist doctor at SCNM (if you check the website, she is Dr Jessica Tran, working under Dr Walter Crinion).

I described your condition and all your syndromes and ailments, and the progression of your problems.

She said basically that people in your condition (and they see hundreds over there - that's where all patients end up, after doing the rounds of conventional doctors who are clueless) have been exposed to toxic chemicals or heavy metals at some point or the other. She said that it is the cause for developping all these ailments in the MAJORITY of cases like yours. Believe me, you are not alone Maff.

I then asked is there another cause for such a medical catastrophe? And she replied, \"viral infection\"; but it is much more rare. I do remember you mentioning getting a series of viral infections.

Either way, in both cases, they have protocols and means to successfully treat people like you. If the cause of your medical problems is a toxic exposure, then they'll treat you one way (probably chelation, detox etc) and if the cause is viral infection, then they have another plan for you. Either way, they KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH YOU.

My resident doctor told me one day that cases like you (and me also) is all they see! Patients end up there at the end of their strenght, at the end of their money, at the end of their wits. They see very very sick people. So there is hope for you.

There is bad news for me though; I am pretty depressed.

I have moved to Sedona; a magical place north of Phoenix. (Google it!) But I was running around, stressed out, and also the move here was very rough. I am walking up and down the mountain in the heat (here is only in the 30sC, but in Phoenix, ohmygod it is 45C!!!) and got so very exhausted also because of insomnia and all. As a result, cryptosporidium came back.

I am devastated. I knew that the cysts are virtually undestroyable; but I really thought my body had conquered this little bastard.

But yesterday, I got cramps, diarrhea, the low grade pain throughout the intestines, alternating constipation. I know the symptoms by heart.

So big big setback for me.

Hi guys!

Sammy - Good to see you back on the site. I hope what you're dealing with isn't too serious. We're always here to help if we can. Take care.

Dechen - Thank you so much for taking the time to talk to your doctors about me. My illness started with the common Chronic Fatigue Syndrome trigger of a recurrent viral infection with unusual and lingering symptoms. However I would make the educated guess that despite the fact I have no mercury in my mouth, toxic metals are now playing an equally devastating role in compromising my immune, nervous and endocrine systems and keeping me sick.

It does not surprise me that SCNM sees only the very ill who have been through countless doctors before arriving there. It sounds like they know what they are doing and have the tools to make a real difference so I will keep it in mind if I fail to make progress here in the UK.

I am currently planning to visit Breakspear Hospital here to have viral, Lyme and toxic metal/pollutant testing done among other things. They do chelation therapy and infrared saunas if toxicity is found along with a host of treatsments aimed at addressing immune dysfunction. I am also planning to see Dr. Damien Downing for IV phospholipid exchange therapy which many here (bolam56 in particular) have found to be highly beneficial. Basically I am ready to pursue all avenues now I have more time after graduating from university.

I am so sorry to hear you have suffered a setback when you were doing so well and were so happy. I know you have the strength to keep going and come through it again however - no matter how stubborn the crypto is!

This is a real coincidence as I had Googled Sedona many months ago because of my interest in spirituality and planned a trip there for May but my degree schedule changed and messed up my plans so I settled for two weeks in Turkey for now. I will certainly visit Arizona for one reason or another before too long I am sure.

Take care and try not to let your head drop and get too depressed. We all have ups and downs and this is just a temporary down and before long you'll be enjoying life once more ;)

Thanks Maff for your kind words - frankly I was spiralling down into depression and despair, as I didn't think crypto would ever come back, and I felt so very strong and healthy I could finally go all day without limiting myself, and run around and rely on this damn body. Now I am limited again, a slave to supplements and this goddamn body.

It is really nice that now, after graduating (and possibly getting a job) you may have the opportunity to do serious treatment procedures - like the heavy metal detox. Actually everyone is focused on mercury, but there are so many more and they are ALL damaging, each in its own way. I remember reading about beryllium (I think) and the nasty effects on the immune system it has. Now it is out of my system. Then thorium came up, I didn't know what the hell that was, but it so happens that it is a radioactive compound that lodges in the bones and sooner or later can cause bone cancer, or, another favorite, pancreas cancer. Do you want this caca in your system?
Now am so glad my levels of uranium are at zero - no one can use me for nuclear warheads anymore! Ha.

I have actually changed doctors, because I was doing mind-body medicine with a super doctor and thought he was specialised only in mind-body, but it so happens that he knows EVERYTHING. And he comes to Sedona, and he comes to my house!!! He actuallly caught me in time, as I was drowning in despair and contemplating jumping in the Grand Canyon.

He is so very kind. So he is also treating me for hormone imbalances, crypto (he suggested ozone insufflations for killing the parasites), excellent ORAL chelators (thank god no more IVs) (if you are interested, I can give you the name), and una de gato to boost my immune system. Researching una de gato (cat's claw), it seems like THE herb I would need at all cost.

This doctor is of the opinion that I will have to take caEDTA for the rest of my life; they do that here (ref, Dr Garry Gordon in Payson, a pioneer in heavy metal chelation). Their products for detox and chelation are outstanding, seemingly.

Am also back on VSL#3 because the Chaparro is antimicrobian and may disturb the gut flora.

Well let us know what is your experience with Breakspear Hospital. Is this in London? Am glad you do have access to these treatments and therapies that are so very needed for people like us.

Thanks again for your kind words, they are meaningful.

No problem Dechen, I know you must be feeling really down at the moment after thinking you were free to start living a relatively normal life again. It sounds like you are working with a good doctor and doing all the right things again so I hope things get back on track for you soon - I am sure they will :)

I have graduated from my degree but still have a year of supervised clinical training ahead so will be very busy. I also plan a re-design for EIR with an emphasis on social network features. We really should have more people hanging around and contributing with the number of visitors the site gets...but I concede it's not too user friendly at the moment! Anyway, I am going to make time to work on my own health so I hopefully have the energy to keep going with everything else...

Breakspear is in Hemel Hemstead which is in Southern England. A good few hours drive from me but at least I don't have to leave the country...for now. I am also planning on going for IV phospholipid exchange therapy and there is a well known environmental/nutritional medicine doctor I know (Dr. Damien Downing) who does this and is only 45 minutes away.

Good luck with your treatment and please keep me updated on how you get on - I'll do the same when I get things rolling!

Take care.

hi Im new to this site,
I finally realized I have MCS about 16 months ago or so,due to many things, I was apretty succsesful artist and made my living as such for about 15 urs working with clay glazes kiln fumes, all that stuff.
Then getting stung by a scorpion 4 times on my scalp, is when things REALLY started going haywire in my body

I am really struggeling today.
at the moment Im in seattle washington. we are gettin alot of heavy pollution the last few weeks
because of the BC fires, and also the fires in eastern washington.
like my MCS isnt bad enough already.
so here is my question, I iwll be going back to Duncan AZ, where my home is, this horrible little toxic shit hole of a copper mining town, in about 6 weeks.
Im trying to find a clinic around the Tucson area, or even silver city new mexico area.
Duncan isnt close to anything, but I would like to no more about the SCNM clinic, what town is it in, and do you have a number.....anyone?

this looks like agreat site, and I hope to meet more MCSr here, and learn more.
thanks everyone

Hi Sharin,

Sorry to hear of your ordeal.

I'm the one who goes to the SCNM and goes on and one about it.

They have a website - www.scnm.edu

And just click on Medical Center. There you will see all the doctors and residents.

As far as am concerned, these people have saved my life. They are the best in the world! And kind, and it is not a money grabbing operation. You can get on student rotations and then it is really really cheap (like 35$ for a regular appointment). You still see the doctor, but you'll have a resident assigned to you.

They offer all kinds of treatments, and each doctor is very good. I love these people.

So the number is 480-970-0000

And they are located in Scottsdale - but in a month or two the clinic is moving to Tempe - closer to Tucson...

Good luck! All the best for your healing!
