I usually refrain from touting the benefits of one particular product, but I have seen very positive and very quick results for my IBS with a product from Metagenics called Glutagenics. The product is a powder taken before meals and is a combination of Aloe Vera, L-Glutamine, and DGL. My doctor recommended it for my GI complications, and since I was already taking 2 out of the 3 ingredients separately I thought it made sense to give it a go.

The product is a bit pricey even through online retailers, but since only a teaspoon is taken at a time, a container seems to last just over a month.

Overall, I noticed a great reduction in allergic type reactions to foods (basically feeling flu-like and feverish after eating something that did not agree with me), a reduction in episodes of sudden bowel movements/diarrhea, and overall less nausea and "weak stomach."

Thought I would pass on the anecdotal evidence, as this product really helped me.

Metagenics are probably the most respected nutritional supplement/nutraceutical manufacturers around so no surprise Glutagenics is a great product. Fantastic to hear it has had multiple benefits for you.

If this does not suit everyone I know of one alternative that is highly regarded by naturpathic doctors - Perm-A-Vite by Allergy Research/Nutricology. This product is also based on L-glutamine but contains cellulose, N-Acetyl-D- Glucosamine, slippery elm, MSM, and epithelial growth factors. Epithelial cells are the type lining the gut wall.

Hope the Glutagenics keeps working for you Stache. Would be good to hear from others who have also tried this product and also Perm-A-Vite.
