Hello all..I have chemical sensitivity..and I want to test for Leaky Gut or Candida so I can rule that out if I need to...I know I can order the lab tests on here but before I do that I would like to find a doctor that works with Leaky gut.Candida so maybe i can use my insurance before I use cash..
So does anyone know of a doctor that test/treats this in the Michigan U.S. area?
Thanks
Denise H.

Hi Denise,
I believe my MCS was caused by Candida/yeast overgrowth/fungal-type dysbiosis....or whatever you prefer to call it.
Candida and other yeast produce exactly the type of chemicals (e.g. acetaldehyde) that are implicated in triggering chemical sensitivities. Acetaldehyde is a close relative of formaldehyde for example. It's not a huge stretch to hypothesize that chronically absorbing acetaldehyde from your gut could lead to MCS. For this reason it is a very good move to see if you have problems in this area.
To find a doctor who is familiar with these problems and the tests you'd like have a look at our health care professional directory. If there are no doctors listed in your area I'd recommend you visit The American Academy of Environmental Medicine website. They do doctor referrals.
You could also visit the websites of the major labs that provide this type of testing such as Genova Diagnostics and Metametrix Clinical Laboratory.

Post edited by: Maff, at: 2009/08/18 19:11
