i didnt really get a chance to reply to all those questions and i have severe cognitive problems and memory loss so i mighta missed them. sorry if i did, maff i have heart of tribulus i just got so many herbs and supplements i didnt wanna buy another one, i believe that its prolly as effective as any supplements i take for bile production and liver protection i have researched herbs for liver disease so much i try to stick to ones that in studies have lessened fibrosis especially. i dont know if tribulus has any effect on this but i have tried them all and the one i have used the most for fibrosis and scarring is called dan shen. its supposed to helps with the scarring process and is used mostly in chinese medicine for the heart which i have problems with as well. although i think it helps coronary artery disease and not myocarditis. milk thistle i have been taking forever. recently im trying phylanthus complex from iherb. i spend hundreds of dollars there lol. reason i cant stick to meat and veggies is cause the yeast screams for carbs and sugars and when i get depressed i give up go pig out but i get so ill i get scared back into the diet. last binge i went on my liver enzymes went up so i had to change the diet. i def have copper toxicity as some liver guy though i had wilsons disease cause excess copper in my liver on biopsy and low ceruloplasmin so i started taking zinc[this was 2 years ago] and for the first time in 6 years my stool went dark brown instead of yellow. i thought i finally had the cure and i had wilsons but i tried chelation with tetrathiomolybdate and my liver pain go so bad i had to stop and all my improvements where lost. i then got the flu in april 2008 and starting having myocarditis and have been going downhill since then. i cant touch the yeast or do any chelatio all it does it send me to emerg with a severe increase in inflammation. that faecal implant sounds nasty but i know how desperate ppl can get i have done alot of weird things since i got sick and even hurt myself doing alternative treatments. i was all into enemas at one time but i actually increased inflammation so bad in my liver i had to stop doing enemas. i think i seen yeast and mucous coming on when doing them too that was like 6 years ago. i even know coffee enemas do stimulate bile cause after doing them i would have diarrhea after expelling the coffee. but after a few weeks of doing them nothing came out but the coffee and my liver pain was alot worse so i had to actually stop. not a pretty subject lol i can imagine what my roomates thought when i was doing the enemas making strange noises in the bathroom lol. but i was right desperate. =p

maff how long have u had pain over your liver? im curious cause if any of you have had it for a long time id be curious to know as i had it for 9 years now non stop as well as pain from my spleen and both have been enlarged on ultrasound. bigger dependin on how inflammed. also your ggt u mentioned goes up, is that tthe only one that goes up as i have had liver inflammation for 9 years and that one was been up with the alt and ast but the last 6 years only the alt has been going up and ast which are both mainly for the liver the ggt i believe is more for bile duct inflammation. i also have gallstones from the liver inflammation.

Wow so you're another one in really bad health as a result of Candida and in the situation many of us find ourselves in - so sick that things that should help actually make us worse.
I have been to so many doctors and other health care practitioners and I actually agree in the most part with their protocols from my own experience and research (and now my degree course in nutritional therapy) but because the yeast toxins have so poisoned my body, particularly liver and nervous system, I am unable to stay on any of these protocols; myself and every doctor has been unable to find a work around.
The frustrating thing is that I know if I could make substantial improvements to my gut microflora my health would improve markedly in all areas; hence my exploration of faecal transplants as this is currently the most effective (and by far quickest!) way to favourably alter the gut microflora.
I haven't had chance to study herbs as much as I'd like since I'm focusing on nurition at the moment with my degree. I will certainly have a look at the research on 'dan shen' though, thanks for mentioning that one.
Interesting also that you have copper deficiency and low ceruloplasmin as I think it was Dechen who posted a link to a doctor who had noted this was a big problem in Candida patients. I'm sorry the chelation didn't work out for you. I have not heard of that particular chelating agent being used but if it has 4 thiol (sulphur) groups it is sure to be potent! Perhaps a more gradual chelaton approach would work for you or have you tried this already?
In answer to your second post I have had liver inflammation for 10-11 years. I went to my GP complaining of abdominal pain as I was feeling pain in my duodenum - which I now know is from toxic bile causing irritation and low grade inflammation. Since I was complaining of abdominal pain I was sent for an ultrasound scan of my GI tract; the sonographer however told me that my liver was clearly inflammed but this wasn't reported as it was a GI scan that was asked for!
I have frequently had elevated GGT and my ALT and AST have been the upper end of normal a few times when tested. The thing is I have never been tested when my liver has been at its worst e.g. after using DHEA, hydrocortisone or antibiotic drugs, so I suspect they would have been abnormal then - my stools were white/grey and my skin yellow!
For reference - GGT is generally elevated due to increased exposure to toxins such as alcohol or drugs and is an early warning of liver problems. AST and ALT are enzymes released by liver cells when they DIE; so if you have elevated AST and/or ALT your liver is in pretty big trouble. It means there is currentlyliver damage occuring.
I have tried the coffee enemas too as well as liver flushes and they cause me too much pain in my liver, gall bladder, bile ducts and intestines as well. Unlike you I did them after I started living alone so didn't have to worry about the strange noises

so you have never had a elevation of alt? or ast? if you have never once had an elevation of those enzymes i wouldnt worry bout your liver i have had like at least a hundred elevation since 2000 which clearly shows cell death in the liver. if its never been elevated and just high normal i wouldnt think ur liver has had any damage to it. also if u havent had any dark brown urine or banana yellow stool that will accompany liver problems. tan is normal. i also have fat malabsorption from the liver disease which is elevated on 72 hour fecal fat. i guess my liver disease is pretty serious but so is my heart, spleen, etc. hrmm if u had white stool and skin was yellow thats pretty seriuos i have had a attack of acute helpatitis my alt was in >1000 which is huge inflammation but i actually perforated my duodenum taking alternative treatment i knew nothing about. i almost died and doctors at emerg. didnt believe me thats the crazy thing. so you dont think ur right upper quadrant pain is from your liver?

Hi guys,
Talking about liver - I've never had a test showing elevated liver enzymes; but as Maff says, they never tested it when it was swollen!
However, the Dalai Lama's own physician - whom I trust more than any of these doctors here - has said that my liver was so bad, I was on my way to cirrhosis!!!
However, organic acids test showed gluthatione depletion or something, and formation of stones.
My liver swelled when I took Diflucan (in 2000) and that was the beginning of real trouble. Then taking estrogen it swelled again. Needless to say, in those times, I cannot eat anything at all just drink herbal teas and boiled water.
But pain in the liver, doesn't it come from the gallbladder?
I know I have pain when gallbladder is not happy...
Right now, I added activated charcoal to my protocol to pull out toxins from the digestive tract and unburden the poor bugger.
Otherwise, I am still looking into detox clinics, etc. Something has to happen. Oh, and am just reading about infrared saunas as best way to detox all chemical garbage and heavy metals...
As long as candida and bowel dysbiosis is not corrected however, I feel the liver will never be happy.

hrmm if either of u guys never even had one elevation of liver enzymes i wouldnt even for a second start thinking i had cirrhosis. it takes alot of damage first, also i would advise u start getting tested for thing rather than just guessing based on pains. i have had pain from my liver and elevated enzymes for 10 years and once even had acute hep where enzymes where over 1000 which is brutal. all the other occassions they are max 3 times normal. 150 alt. alt is the most important one for liver the others ones could be something else alt is specific for liver. i just had another attack of pancreatitis which i have had many as well over the years. its 2 inches above my belly button. im scared of eventually getting diabetes from the damage which happens eventually =[. i have had alot of yellowing in my eyes and still get it on my fingers every few days been like that for years it comes and goes. i dont think i could tolerate a fecal transplant cause well i wouldnt believe that would work[just my opinion]and its pretty gross. i mean if it would work 100 percent i prolly would but i got candida in my gut all the way through and bloodstream as well so i doubt it would have little effect. what about a colonic with probiotics? i have gallstones too dechen i think thats what prolly causes the pancreatitis. i dont think the liver pain comes from gallbladder if ur liver is inflammed but if the gallbladder is inflammed it will get worse after eating like the pancreatitis. the liver if inflammed will hurt for a long time not just after eating.
