Any suggestions?

#1 2 years, 1 month ago
I am experiencing a very strange and frightening problem - I am looking for any advice / suggestions you may have.

I have suffered from candida for the last 5 years - it mostly affected my stomach. I wasn't able to digest a lot of foods and I would get a lot of strange reactions when eating out in restaurants. I also developed leaky gut syndrome. I went to see a homeopath who did kinesiology. After some trial and error and lots of discipline to not break the diet!, eventually I got a lot better but still keeping to the diet.

Then 4 months ago I noticed that I was getting a salty metal sour taste in my mouth. After some deduction it seemed to occur when I drank herbal tea. I noticed the hot water was quite scaley from the kettle. It was then established from kinesiology that I had a problem with the chlorine and heavy metals in tap water. I stopped drinking tap water and started drinking bottled mineral water. This seemed fine for a week - the metal taste went away and I thought everything was ok but then the problem escalated and I started getting the same reaction with bottled water, food cooked in water in saucepans, and any food cooked in water. I brought a Brita filter jug and tried that - again seemed fine for around 10 days and then the reaction would start. The reaction involves it starting in my mouth with the metal salty taste and then it seems to affect my breathing in my chest - my chest gets tight and I get dizzy in my head - the room sometimes spins. I get a pain to the left of my chest too - not sure if this is muscular. I have started drinking juice which seems to be a bit better than water but I do sometimes still get a reaction (and im sure juice is not going to help in the long run with candida). I have also tried drinking distilled water and I still got the reaction which might indicate that it is not in essence anything in the water that is really the problem.

I have had two blood tests which tested for FBC, LFT, Thyroid function, B12, serum mineral screen, Immunoglobulin, tryptase activity, ANA, CRP and thyroid peroxidase antibody. All of these tests showed normal levels - no abnormality. I have been to see an Allergy specialist who said this was not Allergy related and has referred me on to see a mouth specialist next week. I have sent away for hair mineral analysis but still awaiting the results. Not sure if it is candida related? I suspect the candida has moved from my stomach area upwards towards my mouth and perhaps I have some MCS with cooking pans etc.

I have started taking quercetin which has seemed to take the edge off the reaction slightly but I am still feeling really ill with it and just want to be able to drink normally without feeling weird! I have also started taking vitamin C, fish oils, molybdenum, and pantethine.

I would really appreciate it if anyone has any thoughts on this problem, any suggestions of a specialist in London I could go and see that would help me, or any further tests I need to ask for.

Many thanks.
