Hi all,
The site gets quite a few emails and messages from people asking how they can find a doctor who will diagnose multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) or environmental illness (EI). Such a diagnosis is obviously important for many reasons including insurance and social benefits claims as well as issues with employers.
To provide everyone with the answers I have given these people I wanted to post here for everyone to benefit from.
First of all you can use our Healthcare Professional Directory which lists hundreds of doctors and other healthcare professionals who are familiar with environmental illness.
If you are unable to find a doctor in your area there then:
In the UK visit:
The British Society for Ecological Medicine (BSEM)
In the US visit:
The American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM)
These organisations will be able to put you in touch with a doctor in your area who practices environmental medicine and will recognise your health problems for what they are; for the reasons above and of course hopefully to bring about improvements in your health!

Post edited by: Maff, at: 2008/09/11 11:18
