Now a few years on and looking back, the Docs who helped me most were, 1. A GP who really listened, gave me as much time as I needed, who tried really hard to help and was never afraid to say 'I don't know'. 2. A GP who is a fellow of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine. Hope this helps somebody, G

I was diagnosed with ME/CFS aged 11 and at that time my GP was totally useless....as were the specialists she sent me to. They were basically trying to prove that I was a troubled child which was way off the mark!

I have lived in my current home for 5-6 years now and the doctor's practice I now go to is fantastic. I've seen 3 different GPs there who have all listened and tried to do their best for me. Like your GP they have been willing to say \"I don't know\" - which strange as it sounds is actually music to my ears. Far better than them pretending to be all knowing or just turning a blind eye.

Again like you I have found a lot of answers through doctors who practice environmental medicine. The UK equivalent of the Australasian College of Nutritional and Environmental Medicine being the British Society for Ecological Medicine.

I have also learnt a lot through reading books, websites and other material online. Some of the doctors people might want to look up are Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum, Dr. Paul Cheney, Dr. Martin Pall, Dr. Sarah Myhill, Dr. Lucinda Bateman, Dr. Leo Galland, and Dr. Rodger Murphree. There are many more besides who do understand environmental illnesses but these have great websites and books with answers that will help many visitors.
