Perfume strips yesterday-please report

#1 2 years, 3 months ago
Well, yesterday, I got a rude awakening as when I opened my newspaper, I got smacked with an immediate headache along with nasal irritation that lingered the whole day due to an insert Macy's had with cologne/perfume strips. I was so mad about it, I called the Times Picayune newspaper to report this. They suggested I contact Macy's.

Macy's circular insert had a cologne/perfume strip that permeated the entire newspaper. Needless to say I had to immediately discard the newspaper and deal with lingering nasal irritation and a headache at hand.

I also found an email address to report the problem directly to Macy's - here is their email address to file a complaint. I would also like to start a petition against Macy's or any other dept store against adding their chemical strips to future newspapers. I suggest each and every one of you do the same. Something has to be done about it. It is unfair for innocent people who suffer with Multiplie Chemical Sensitivity to be unaware of this being added to our newspapers and have this happen. Here is Macy's email address.

This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it - yes, a little strange for an email address but it is correct. Let our voice may be heard in numbers.

Did anyone have a problem with the chemical perfume strip in your 2/12/10 newspaper and if so, has anyone reported this to Macy's at above email address? Let's not let this go unturned, please.

Post edited by: cleanair, at: 2010/02/16 01:37

Macy's is at it again with their perfume cards tucked inside their circular included in the newspaper. Today, 2/19/10, I opened my newspaper to find perfume chemical scents permeating the entire newspaper. Again, I got an immediate headache, then nasal burning and irritation. Something has to be done about this as this problem is becoming more regular. I don't want to cancel my subscription to my local newspaper but it seems I may have to.

I posted the email address for Macy's for everyone to file a complaint a week or so ago here in my thread. Can someone help, please?

i recommend that you also mention that perfumes are now known to be big triggers of asthma attacks that can land people in the hospital..unfortunately few people understand mcs even after you explain it to them but everyone understands and accepts asthma so including this fact may get your complaint more acceptance ..also the number of potential customers with asthma is pretty high and therefor important to their bottom line..hey whatever works..i dont really care what gets business to quit poisining me as long as they do it!!
