I'm having a really hard time coping. My MCS symptoms were recently set off by some mold smells at work. Now everything is bothering me.
I can't handle the central heat in my life. For me, the neurological symptoms are worse than the respiratory, especially because they so severely affect my job performance.
I'd appreciate some advice about all of this.
Also, what are some of the best air cleaners and odor neutralizers out there? I can't tolerate essential oils either. HELP!

Hi Estelle,
I just got an email from someone about a safe, space heater:
Fahrenheat Electric 5120 Model# FBE15002
\"this one is good
www.amazon.com/Fahrenheat-Electric-Baseboard- Heater-FBE15002/ dp/B0000AXF0P/ ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&s=hi&qid=1266470050&sr=8-6
I got it new and burned it off, gassed it off, for a few hours at 1500W outdoors, and then used it indoors at 1000W with no problems. I am severely MCS.\"
I completely understand what you're going through. I can't focus at all when someone stands next to me smelling of perfume, soap, tobacco, etc....
The first step is to identify the sources of the odors. Where are the smells coming from that are bothering you? Is it from cleaning products? Perfume from a coworker? Car exhaust from an open window?
If you can post of list of what's bothering you, perhaps some of us can brainstorm about a solution.
Baking soda is good at neutralizing odor. I've sprinkled it on a carpet and just let it sit for several days (replacing it when I needed to vacuum).
I'm at the point where I can't work. When I did work, I politely asked the coworker who sat by me to stop wearing perfume because it bothered me. I also bought a cleaning product for cleaning the glass at one of my jobs (unfortunately, getting coworkers to use the safe product was a losing battle).
Also, be aware of items that may be outgassing by your desk. Try not to sit by a copier or new equipment (some paper shredders outgas terribly).
Good luck,
Airy
PS. The link seems to keep creating spaces between letters. I hope this will work.
