Prescription Eyeglasses

#1 2 years, 1 month ago
I got diagnosed with a rare eye disease and need to get my first pair of glasses. Does anyone know if the anti-reflective coating outgasses? What concerns should I have when getting prescription eyeglasses? I seem to do okay with regular, old, plastic sunglasses.

By the way, I had perfect vision before and the eye problem was caused by the steroids that the doctor had me use for my MCS.

Hi Airy,

Am sorry to hear you have had to wear glassees. I'm afraid I cannot help with the protective coating question perhaps the opticians would let you get familiar with a coated pair.

My MCS has only developed in the last 18 months and havent needed new glasses in that time. I am able to tolerate contact lenses which I was really surprised about. I dont wear them at the moment due to cost but they had to be disposables a lot of the solutions for storage I react to. Thats only if your prescription would allow for lenses

Good Luck with everything

Update: I'm happy to report that I'm doing just fine with my glasses and I got the glare protection.

The cases they gave me smell terrible (definitely chemicals in there) and they gave me a spray cleaner that irritates my nose (they said it was watered down alcohol).
