Latest research re - bio markers

#1 2 years ago
Hi there,

The attached article may give some comfort to those who are still being branded as psychotic by their GPs etc with their Chemical Intolerance.

www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/20430047

Unfortunately it looks like we are still a very long way off from assistance from the NHS or UK government or even being included within DDA guidlines. But this is progress.

Take care all

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for posting this link. Very interesting stuff. Judging by the journal, number of authors and the study design it seems to be a reliable and valuable piece of evidence.

What is most interesting however is that it broadly agrees with the theoretical mechanism of MCS proposed by Professor Martin Pall with deficiencies in antioxidant enzymes and overproduction of nitric oxide being central. Professor Pall suggests various antioxidant supplements should benefit MCS patients and this study appears to support that.

Those who are unfamiliar with Pall's work might be interested in his book Explaining \"Unexplained Illnesses\": Disease Paradigm for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity, Fibromyalgia, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Gulf War Syndrome and the following articles:

Hi Maff,

I hope its a break through. . . I have emailed the researchers to find out it they are treating any of their MCS patients. I have received no reply. If I do Ill be sure to let everyone know.

What I didnt understand was the Fatty Acid transference reference. I have seen an improvement in my condition since taking EFAs with Lipase and high potency lecithin and wondered if there was any link.

many thanks

Sarah
