Air purifiers

#1 1 year, 10 months ago
Hi, in my search for the best air purifier I am finding it difficult as there are so many, I am needing one for severe MCS and ES. I have ended my search for a ceramic air purifier as there dosen't seem to be any.

So can you give advice on the best ones for severe mcs as I am very confused. Thanks.

Angie,

My personal experience is that air purifiers didn't help me at all when İ had severe MCS. How I managed the condition was to make my home as chemical-free as possible by ditching all consumer chemical products (household cleaning, personal care etc) and never buying new furniture or electrical equipment - always used/second-hand if I needed something. Then I used a carbon filter mask from www.icanbreathe.com for when I knew I would be exposed or ın case of emergency.

This is only my experience and others have found aır purifıers useful but just want to share and make sure you don't waste a lot of money on an expensive purifier that you may not actually need.

Good luck and best wishes.

Hi Angie_A

Sorry you are struggling so.

I had to get rid of all the things Maff mentions & use a carbon filter mask but I still rely on my air purifier as well. Mine is made in Australia so I don't know if you would have any luck getting it where you are. It is steel construction with 5kg carbon filter. If you do decide to get one perhaps try to get one that is not plastic & avoid the ones with \"ionisers\" as they produce ozone...

If you can test run one that would be a good option.

Sorry I can't offer more specific suggestions. All the best & would love to know how you are getting on.

I am trying to help my daughter with allergies. She having a very bad time at the moment and struggling to take medication she needs. Her only relief is to have all the windows open but thats a little cold in the UK at this time of year.

Thanks for all the information on here, I am learning a lot

Hi judyjude,

I don't have any personal experience with using dehumidifiers but from reading research on the subject I would say it is at least worth a try to help your daughter.

You don't say what she is allergic to but many allergens found in the home (particularly mold) thrive in damp areas...so removing moisture from the environment with a dehumidifier, should in theory, reduce the amount of allergen present and hopefully reduce symptoms.

If you decide to go down this route I really hope it helps. Please let us know how your daughter gets on.

Hi,

I have found that not many air cleaners worked for me too but one. The best also is to remove the chemicals from the home and keep everything in drawers, etc magazines, newspapers, books, also. I tried many air cleaners and the one I settled on is totally quiet and it works on killing molds and viruses and it really helps me. It does keep the air very clean. I keep one in my bedroom so I have one clean room and I get 8 hours of good sleep. It also have them all over my house and they work great. I see all the brands are crossed out so I am not sure if you will get thi. Also for the EMS try using crystals and Airflow sanitizers.
