MCS from Anaphylactic Shock from MRI

#1 1 year, 7 months ago
I had an MRI on June 6th.I went into anaphylactic shock when the Gadolinium contrast dye was injected into me. I have a few questions.

Does this mean I am allergic to iodine found in supplements because I had a reaction to the iodine in the dye?

I had a very strange sensation in my teeth when the dye was injected.Like my teeth were \"charged\" or radioactive.I still have a strange sensation in my mouth.I have alot of fillings.Could this be making me sick.

My teeth chatter 24/7 and increase with exposure to chemicals. There is an inner tremor. My left arm, leg, and eye/temple feels like peripheral injury is occuring. Some clumbsiness with hands at times. Some brain fog.A twinge of left kidney pain.

I think I have candida issues. When I have sugar my feet get sores on them and when I don't have sugar they get better. Is this a sign of candida?

Will supplements help me to detox if I have amalgams,or will they make me sick?

Does anyone have any suggestions for treatment options? I'd like to hear them.I've never had anything like this. Thanks!

Hi Denny,

You sound like you have some complex issues here. I am unfamiliar with the ingredients in Gadolinium contrast dye so can't give much of an answer there. The iodine used in the dye may be bound to another substance and it is that chemical complex that caused your adverse reaction. On the other hand, iodine is very chemically active in the body and has clear links to the nervous system as a component of thyroid hormones...it is therefore not beyond the realms of possibility that it could be causing the neurological type symptoms you describe, in my humble opinion.

Again, multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) is considered to have a large neurological component by many, so exposure to chemicals could cause teeth chattering and the other symptoms you describe, if you have MCS.

Candida-related problems are certainly a possibility if you develop symptoms after consuming sugar since the yeast will produce increased amounts of toxins that may trigger any number of symptoms. This is certainly not the only possible explanation however. Sugar seriously affects immune function and since your foot sores are likely a type of inflammatory condition this could be the mechanism.

Given the nature of your problems I would strongly recommend you seek out a doctor who practices environmental or functional medicine. These links may help:
