Hi,
I got this letter from my state Health Minister today:
inkpinkustink.blogspot.com/2010/11/hospital-guidelines-2.html
I have been in correspondence with him over hospital guidelines for Victoria, Australia recently (as have local advocacy groups like AESSRA www.aessra.org/). South Australia has excellent hospital guidelines that were advocated for by the South Australian group & the SA government has allowed Victoria the use of them.
I think it is really great news & will be so helpful for people with MCS needing hospital care.
The link to the SA MCS hospital guidelines is here:

Hi inkpink,
Sorry for taking forever to reply to your message but as you can see I have been a bit tied up making some changes (hopefully improvements!) here at The Environmental Illness Resource.
I've just had chance to look at the letter you received and the MCS hospital guidelines and it seems like real progress is being made down there in Oz! The guidelines are a very good start as they recognise that special preperations need to be made to accomodate MCS sufferers before hospital admission and that they need special care during a hospital stay. I was impressed this went as far as addressing specific dietary needs.
Really fantastic work from all those groups and individuals who worked for this. Let's hope the guidelines continue to be developed and are adopted more widely!
