Like so many of us who suffer severe MCS I have tried many treatments including herbal, diet, vitimins oxygen and EPD injections. However nothing seems to have worked. My specialist mentioned helminthic therapy (hookworms) and this treatment has also appeared recently in various articles relating to allergies. Has anyone had this treatment and found it successful for MCS?

I tried all of the treatments you mention, including EPD and oxygen therapy, to no avail. What I strongly feel led to my recovery from MCS was addressing hormonal and neurotransmitter imbalances, particularly adrenal hormones (DHEA and cortisol). If levels of these are insufficient (adrenal fatigue, or adrenal insuffciency, in more severe cases) then our bodies become more susceptible to countless problems, including allergies and chemical sensitivities. I would recommend working with a naturopathic doctor or well qualified alternative healthcare practitioner to determine if hormonal imbalances are an issue for you.

Helminthic therapy sounds very interesting - I have only heard of it in passing. Do you have links to any good information on the subject? Anything that improves the balance of the gut ecology and modulates the immune system such as this is likely to be beneficial in MCS and other multi-system illnesses in my opinion.

Hopefully we'll hear from someone who has undergone this therapy and can tell us more!
