Hi Everyone,
I am new to this fantastic website, having just discovered it a couple of days ago while doing research. I have two close friends with MCS, both of whom are very EMF-sensitive so I am their 'eyes and ears' so to speak as they can't be near computers or other EMF-emitting devices.
One of my friends in particular is suffering greatly due to the wacky weather patterns - one day freezing cold, the next day 10 or more degrees warmer etc. Her MCS manifests as MS-type symptoms but these kinds of temperature fluctuations is really doing a number on her, not only physically, but also emotionally. She is having 'meltdowns' as she calls them on a regular basis and feels totally out of control. She also really reacts right before a full moon.
Has anyone found ways to mitigate sensitivity to the weather or full moon? Any advice would be so appreciated.
Blessings to all!

Hello and welcome!
Your friends are very lucky to have you to search for the answers they need online
I don't think your friend reacting to changeable weather is at all uncommon among sufferers of MCS and other environmental illnesses - and I speak as one myself.
These illnesses involve a large element of neurological dysfunction so MS-like symptoms are not unusual either. It is this neurological (and also endocrine) dysfunction that also explains sensitivity to such things as the weather. Basically these illnesses leave the brain hypersensitive to stimuli of any kind. Not everyone reacts to the same things or to the same degree but people become acutely sensitive to chemicals, foods, medications, light, sound, touch etc. The weather and seasons are powerful forces that strongly influence our bodily functions even in health. When suffering from environmental illnesses sensitivity to the weather and seasons can become acute.
Through my own experience I would advise that your friend look into hormone (particularly adrenal, thryoid, sex steroid) and neurotransmitter imbalances and methods to address any that are present. I found that treating poor adrenal function (adrenal fatigue) with herbs and nutrients to restore normal cortisol and DHEA levels was key. Also, your friend's body is basically perceiving changes in weather as a stress, so reducing other types of stress where possible is also important. That includes avoiding chemicals and EMFs as strictly as possible.
I hope this helps and all the best to your friends. Please tell that myself and others have overcome MCS so there is hope!

Thanks for the warm welcome and great advice!
Where on this website would I find testimonials of others who have healed from MCS? Are they spread out throughout the various topics or concentrated in one area? I would like to read them to my friends with MCS so they can be inspired!
Blessings!

No problem
There is currently no one place on the site with recovery stories - but there will be now you have given me the idea!
For now you will just have to read through the MCS forums. I have just had a quick browse through the topic titles and found a couple for you:
Gupta Amygdala Retraining: I no longer have mcs!
My complete recovery from MCS
My own recovery from MCS came about after strict avoidance of chemicals for 3 years. I wore a carbon filter mask whenever in company or outside and even in my kitchen and bathroom. The rest of my home was chemical-free and did not trigger symptoms. I also give much credit to addressing adrenal fatigue with DHEA (a steroid hormone available OTC in the US and online elsewhere).
Others have had a lot of success using phosphatidylcholine (PC) in either oral form or intravenously (known as phospholipid exchange or PLX) through nutritional medicine doctors.
Definitely worth reading through the MCS Articles on the site and I would also highly recommend a book to your friends - Multiple Chemical Sensitivity: A Survival Guide
Hope this helps!

Thanks so much for links to these two recovery stories. Riveting! I have already explored both the Gupta and Annie Hopper websites. WOW!
God bless for putting together such an awesome website!
