Tinitus

#1 8 months, 3 weeks ago
I suffer badly with tinitus and believe this is linked to my MCS. In particular my sinuses become blocked as a sconsequence of exposure to chemicals. Has anyone any found anything suitable to relieve the effects on sinuses and tinitus?

there is an inhaler 'Olbas' completely natural that I will often use to at least distract that awful feeling. It's temporary but at the time it really feels good to use. I also use the nedi pot. That's about all that I can tolerate due to the MCS.
I hope that helps you.

It took me a while to figure out that MCS was causing my swollen sinus seen on CAT Scan and stuffy nose and severe ear pain and tinnitus. I became sensitive to new kitchen cabinets and a couch we bought. My nervous system reacted to everything. My body crashed a couple years ago. I have always had intestinal trouble, weak adrenals and nervous system and could never tolerate alcohol. A year before i crashed I drank alcohol, although only a couple drinks at a time. I became dizzy all the time and had gut pain with every other symptom in the book. I also hit age 35 when female sex hormones and ovaries start to decline. Candida cleansing and intestinal cleansing started to make me feel better. I also had my hormone levels tested and started with Progesterone to raise my levels and adrenals by taking Hydrocortisone low dose, and low dose naltrexone. I was low on Vit D too, so took 10,000iu a day for several months. My Ferritin was a little low so I took Floridix liquid Iron supplement. I am about 60% better and off the naltrexone now. I notice at certain times of my cycle I have more ear ringing and MCS symptoms, mostly when all my hormones are at their lowest during my period. Also, when my estrogen is rising before ovulation, I get estrogen dominance symptoms. I get another set of symptoms in my luteal phase. All this tells me that the sex hormones are connected to how every system in your body runs and how effectively. I think the sex hormones may be secondary to an infection of some kind involving my intestines. My reverse T3 is high normal and all other Thyroid stuff is normal. The RT3 may point to an infection, maybe Candida, parasites, virus. Bottom line is you have to try to cure the MCS from the inside out and get to the root cause of it. MCS is more of a symptom than a disease itself. Mine was extremely severe and now it's somewhat better!!! Keep searching and digging and trying something new. Best of luck!

Perhaps a word of caution on the use of certain "natural treatments". Olbas is great, however it does contain Turpentine Oil which could possibly be a problem for MCS sufferers.

I have had chronic sinus infections since MCS kicked in & can't take antibiotics for more than a few days due to bad reactions. I use a nettipot - a little thing with a spout, fill with boiled water & small amount of salt - you'll get instructions with it. It takes a bit of practise, head over the bath, not very glamorous but not hard to do. You can use it as often as you like, usually a few times a day for 3-5 days is enough to kill the infection, just a couple of times in the last 10 years I've had to take antibiotics, breaking all the rules cos I can only take them for 3 days, but that was enough to knock it out.
