Help understanding the puzzle, MCS again

#1 6 months ago
Hello,

I had CFS that started back in 1997. No MCS or fibro at first but then, after smelling a bug and tar remover, the MCS and fibro started.

I lived with that for a few years trying different things, colonics, supplements, diet, etc.

I had a hair mineral test done that didn't show any mercury but high levels of calcium and magensium. I did mercury challenge test that still showed no mercury but, have been told high cal/mag can mean that.

I had chelation, IVs of hydrogen peroxide and hyperthermias with an infrared sauna. Those helped greatly and I got well again. The chemical sensitivies got a lot better, I even wore perfume when I wanted to, nothing strong but it wasn't a problem.

Stress over a year knocked my system down again and the CFS, fibro and sleep all went off. I don't fall asleep until 2-3 AM and then wake after 5 hours or so, not a restful sleep. I was sleeping 7-8 hours a night.

I had to have my bamboo floor replaced a month ago due to water damage. The flooring company I had used before discontinued the floor that was in my house so I had to replace it with a whole new floor, 90% of my house.

After researching a lot, I got a floor that had "no added formaldehyde" and had "zero" voc's from the adhesive they used to glue the bamboo to the base flooring.

I went to visit my Mom and friends while the floor was being torn up and replaced. When I returned, I could smell a chemical when I walked in.

Since then, my system has gotten worse. Within a few days of being in the house, my sensitivies were back.

I did a home air quality test that showed formaldehyde in the "moderate" range. I ran the test in my master bedroom, the furniture was purchased used almost five years ago and the mattress is over 15 years old, nothing should be outgassing anything.

Now, I am having the bamboo tested which will come back in 7-10 days.

My system has developed a problem with yeast that I didn't have before the flooring was replaced. I have read that the "aldehydes" can cause that because my liver isn't filtering them properly.

I was watching a video on a person, Biamonte, in New York that says you can't do anything to cleanse the liver until you take care of the yeast.

Then I hear you have to cleanse the colon first, then the liver, or the colon, then gut, then liver...ugh.

I am going to a kneisiologist (sp?) next week, the guessing game of what part is weakest or what needs to be done or what to take or not is making me bonkers.

I wasn't feeling great before the new floor but certainly wasn't like this.

Does anyone know what can help? What should be done first?

My body doesn't tolerate a lot of supplements but I need to do something.

I am airing the house every day, got a filter that is supposed to remove chemicals, that can help but I would rather not react to these things like before. Instead of trying to address each thing that comes up, correct the underlying problem(s).

I have spent a lot of money in the past with supplements I couldn't take or that didn't help. I don't have that money now.

Any suggestions, ideas, etc. would be very much appreciated!

Thank you,

Lynn

I don't have a lot to offer except one inexpensive way to help remove the toxins from your home is put in a lot of plants. Mothers tongue, spider plants, pothos, etc help get rid of formaldehyde etc. I have loads of plants and air filters in my home to help me. I bought a home that had new carpet in it and these things helped me. I air out as often as possible too even if it is to leave the door open for a few minutes everyday to let in fresh air even in winter. I also leave a window cracked in my bedroom as often as possible at night so I have fresh air coming in.
I also bought an ozonator to help clear out toxins in house and in my water. You can get them for under 100.00 on amazon. I drink ozone water too. And I drink water with food grade hydrogen peroxide drops. Not the kind you buy in the grocery stores. I use alkalizing baths (epsom salts and apple cider vinegar or baking soda). And I bought a cheap far infrared sauna portable one and use that as much as I can. Hope this helps give you some new ideas.

Where were you able to get IV hydrogen peroxide, if you don't mind me asking?

Also, for the chemical exposures, to treat immediate symptoms, alkaseltzer gold helps a LOT though it doesn't prevent damage, just keeps you functional.

Also, MCS/Fibro, has been now shown in one study and two confirmations to be probably part of the Nitric Oxide uptake of the body not working correctly. There's no treatment, but at least there's a possible explanation.

www.mcs-america.org/review.pdf One autoimmune probably translates a lot to the others, and they are often comorbid.

I had a similar downturn in health after new double glazing was fitted by the council to my flat. It was the start of me taking the MCS seriously.
I couldnt think what to do. Brain fog in the extreme didnt help..
My instinct was to go back to first principles. Rest, rest &rest, eat well and regularly, keep breathing! - consulting a herbalist has helped too.
I have also found a lot of support and ideas at planetthrive.com.
From the planet thrive community I discovered a lot of discussion about the Gupta brain retraining programe. It isnt CBT or positive thinking. It is a system to engage with the fight /flight part of the brain and calm it down.
It looked very interesting. I have bought the programme and I am about to start. It makes a lot of sense to me from my history and symptoms. It may not be for everyone..

Hello,

I got a filter that says it filters VOCs for my air handler and keep the windows open during the day with one in the bedroom open at night.

I do Epsom salt baths and have an infra red sauna but, I think my system is a bit too weak to do one at the moment.

Thank you for your suggestions, hope you're doing well

I don't have IV hydrogen peroxide I buy 35% food grade hp from www.h2o2oxytech.com/ you can search the site to see where you can buy locally. Many health food stores sell it. It's toxic at 35% you have to dilute it and keep it refrigerated.
