Registration

To write reviews you first need to be a registered user of the site. Registration is free. To register just click the 'Register' link at the bottom of the User Login module on the right of any page. Once you have registered and logged in simply click 'Books' in the top menu to review books or 'Treatment & Product Reviews' in the Main Menu on the left to review everything from nutritional supplements to fragrance-free laundry detergent.

Finding an Item to Review

There are a number of ways you can find an item that you wish to review.

Search Box - if you already have something in mind that you wish to review simply type the name into the search box at the top of the page and hit 'Search'. You may also click 'Advanced Search' for more search options.

Browse Categories - Alternatively you can simply browse a particular category by clicking a category name on the main page of a review directory.

Latest/Top Rated - To review one of the latest or top rated items simply click the name on the lists down the right of the page.

Writing a Review

Adding a review is very simple. When you are logged in to the site you will see an 'Add new review' link at the bottom of every item page underneath the 'User Reviews' heading. Click this link and the review form will appear on the page (alternatively click the 'Write Review' link at the top of the page). Give your review a title, select your ratings, and type the text of your review, then click Submit. It's that simple! Your review will now appear on the item page.

Adding a New Item to Review

If the item you wish to review is not already listed on the site you may add the item yourself.

On any category page you will see an 'Add new entry' link above the list of items on the right hand side. Clicking this will take you to the new item form.

Choose the appropriate section and category and then enter your name. You can now enter the name of the item and add a short description in the 'Item Summary' box. For a book you could put the text from the back cover here and for other products the manufacturers description would be perfect. Don'y worry too much about what you put in here as we can always edit it for you later. The 'Item Description' box can be left empty.

Finally you can upload an image for the item in the first image upload box (top left). Please do NOT upload more than one picture. Images must be in .jpg, .gif or .png format and no bigger than 300kb in size. Again, if you don't want to do this yourself just leave it and we will do it for you later.

You can now add a review of the item in the review form below.

Editing Your Reviews

After you have written a review you can come back and edit it at any time. When logged in you will see an 'Edit' link next to your reviews when browsing the review sections. You can also see a list of all the reviews you have written and edit them by clicking the 'My Reviews' link in the User Menu. For more on the User Menu see our Profile & User Menu guide.
