I think with candida it is the only way because it's such a tough thing to beat—I've tried just about every diet plan for about 6 years, and this seems to be the only thing that works. I'm taking ThreeLac now, in addition to the diet, and hoping that will speed things up so I can eventually eat normal food again.

Anyway, the book is totally well-written and comprehensive and down-to-earth. I think Donna Gates has done her homework on the subject of anti-yeast/parasite dieting, and I look forward to her next book on the subject.

I learned about ORAC antioxidant effects on free radicals. How alkalin, acid, pH ballance affects health. I did some Electro Dermal Scans, found I had a stressed liver. Learned of Andrea Morits and did the Amazing Liver and Gall Bladder flush 8 times. I was pleased with alot of the improvements in my health but had some lingeringing issues. Knowing that "Health Is Out There" I saw a lady for EPFX SCIO Bio Feedback. She said I had Candida. Out of all the Chiropractic, Naturopathic Dr.s I had seen no one ever told me I had candida. I knew very well what it was. She said "No sugar". Change your diet, eat green vegitables, more vitamins B,C,D Protien, get the book Body Ecology Diet.
I do belive I have Candida. I stopped eating the foods with sugar. Vitmin D is amazing. Juice lemons with the peeling on for vitamin C and alkalinity. BED refers to Fit For Life. I had the book from the 80s reread last Saturday. Protien-Starch food combining explained better than BED, but he talks about fruit as the super food. I bought a bunch of organic fruit, really bad if you have Candida. I got a Bladder infection but did not want to take antibiotics. Life gets real serious. Now I am told to eat according to my blood type.
I am trying to digest and prosses all this diet change drink keefer milk and eat an A blood type diet. I do believe I need to get rid of the Candida in my body. I found it hard to believe my body from birth does not have the capacity to produce enough acid to digest meat. I just did a web search of Medical Reviews of The Blood Type Diet. As I suspected there is no evidence supporting the blood type diet. I am disapointed the BED had to include this in the book. Weeding out all the BS is not somthing everyone can do.
Read the reviews of the Blood Type Diet before you spend much time understanding your blood type. Creating a body ecology that does not feed Candida is a major life style change, but you can leave Dr. D'amado out of the picture.

It is packed with information regarding what causes the symptoms of IBS and why particular foods, such as dairy foods, cause problems for a large number of patients.

As well as advice for creating a food diary so you can discover your problem foods, this book contains over 60 IBS specific recipes. For anybody with a digestive disorder, finding meals that are both safe to eat AND tasty can be very difficult and frustrating but this book is a great help in this area.

The author goes on to discuss food allergies and intolerances and offers advice on various orthodox and alternatives therapies for the condition. This is just a bonus however as the real substance to this book is in the dietary information and recommendations.

A comprehensive diet book that is sure to benefit anybody suffering from IBS.

That is where a book such as this can be very helpful. With over 150 recipes including appetizers, main courses, and desserts, there are bound to be numerous dishes that suit your tastes.

Obviously sugar and high carbohydrate foods are not permitted on an anti-fungal diet so the inclusion of desserts will be a pleasant surprise to those fearing they will never eat anything sweet ever again! The author uses pure vegetable glycerin as a sweetener and it seems to work quite well. Some people have pointed out that glycerin can cause digestive upsets but I suspect this is not a problem at the amounts used in the recipes here. You could always substitute stevia, but this also has its detractors so I would advise people to do their own research there.

This book has been in publication for over 10 years now and that is a testament to how many people have found it useful. As well as the recipes the book also contains a wealth of information on Candida related illness in general. A definite recommendation.
