I was gaining wait and not even eating 1000 calories a day and YES i was excersizing!! I stopped eating all carbs...only ate veggies and chicken and fish. I had been sooo sick with Intestinal Yeast for zoo many years that the side effects of "Die Off" were strong. There was a lot to clear out of my whole body. I was really sick for two weeks and felt better than I had EVER felt in my life!! I followed all of his instructions to take care of myself during the "die off" stage. That part is EXTREMELY important for your recovery! I have used it ten years later when I went thru a sugar binge for weeks (sugar feeds the bad yeast. my body loves bad yeast.....and felt great again.its been ten years again and feel great! the first time i used the SF722 i lost 4 dress sizes in 6 weeks!!! It's not something you take so you can eat what you want. You must be very responsible when taken this formula! Your health is IMPORTANT!!

I read that many chemically sensitive people are deficient in taurine. It's not expensive, so I tried it. Within three weeks I was out an about almost as well as anyone else. I still have to aviod spending along periods of time around fragrances and chemicals, but I can go to the store, to church, to peoples' homes without getting sick.

My doctor has prescribed various medications and although some have definitely helped none has provided the boost in motivation I needed. I came close to losing my job at one point as I just wasn't getting things done and couldn't focus!

L-tyrosine used alongside my prescription meds (with my doctor's approval) has helped with both motivation and focus and seems to be the missing piece of the puzzle for me. I am now back on top of things at work and wouldn't go without my daily taurine capsule. I take 500mg every morning :)

I also use 5htp and l-theanine and find this combination very effective for getting me to sleep and keeping me asleep without any residual drowsiness in the morning.

I have tried the other two supplements without taurine as an experiment and found this was noticeably less effective as I kept waking up during the night.

Taurine is pretty cheap so worth giving a shot if you struggle with insomnia and anxiety like me.

I suffer from CFS not cancer however which is no doubt a significant factore here.

I found my energy was improved after a few weeks of taking 5g every morning in water. I do not mind the taste but others might wish to add it to fruit juice or use it to make a smoothie. Other benefits over the 6 months I used it included fewer infections and just generally feeling less drained and sick. I have also had borderline low white blood cell count since I got sick and this had improved slightly on my last blood test.

The only negative of the product itself was that it caused digestive upset if I tried taking 5g twice per day so I stuck to once.

Unfortunately this product is quite expensive ($40 - although that lasts 2 months at 5g per day). I have no job so had to quit taking it. If I had the money I would be back on it in a shot!

For CFS at least I would recommend people try this - if they can afford it.

I have been using SeleNext fron jarrow formulas now and feel it has made a big difference. Apparently this product contains a special "activated" type of selenium the body can use better. It definitely seems to work for me.....I noticed a difference in only around a week.

I have been taking other things to help my hypothyroidism but think in my particular case selenium played a big role in my recovery. So if you sound like you have similar problems give it a go. It's not very expensive at all!

I was for all intents and purposes a zombie - a shell of a man.

My doctor fed me every antidepressant med going including SSRIs (Prozac & Zoloft), SNRIs (Venlafaxine) and even an MAOI (Parnate) and none produced any notable improvement.

Eventually I began looking into supplements and after a few failures with St. Johns Wort and other herbs I decided to see a nutritionist.

My nutritionist said the symptoms of my depression sounded like I had a deficiency of dopamine and/or norepinephrine so she suggested I try phenylalanine (an amino acid from which these are made). This produced a small but noticeable improvement. When I reported this she gave me SAM-e and - wow! After a week on 400mg per day I was really feeling like myself again for the first time in years. I actually felt like getting off my ass and doing things and the enjoyment in even the little things in life returned!

After a few months on 400mg I did notice I was becoming a bit too stimulated (which can be a common side-effect apparently) so I cut back to 300mg a day and have stuck to that without a problem for a year now.

SAM-e is quite expensive compared to other supplements but if you suffer from symptoms similar to what I have described then I would definitely say try it - it could be the key to getting your life back.
