I have used VSL3 for 6 months now and I have found a good improvement to the symptoms. However, I want to know if VSL3 can make you constipated? My diet is good and I try to drink a lot of water but I don't know if it is coincidental but since taking one sachet a day, the symptoms have definitely improved but the stools are harder and that makes me nervous about going to the toilet. Has anyone else experienced this problem? I cut down to half a sachet every other day but the symptoms started to reappear..so I am going to try half a sachet every day! I wanted to share my experiences with this probiotic as it has been very beneficial for me. I am a mature lady and have suffered from irritable bowel syndrome or IBS for most of my life and have dealt with it as best I could with diet etc. In recent years I have come to suspect Candida may also have played a role in my digestive problems and problems with feeling stressed and constantly tired. I have tried quite a number of different probiotics over the past 5 years or so and have been using Bio-Kult for the past 2 of those. I have found of the probiotic products available in the UK it is far and away the best. I noticed less digestive upset after only a couple of weeks and have gradually seen my energy levels increase while I am now definitely less stressed than I was even without any decrease in the stressful events in my life. I found other probiotics worsened my bloating but have had no side-effects with Bio-Kult. It's more expensive than some other products, yes. But, it works for me so I don't mind paying that little bit extra. If you suffer from IBS or Candida and can afford to give it a try I highly recommend you do. Other probiotic products I had bought from local pharmacies had not helped at all so I wanted to make sure I got the real deal. It took a few weeks of taking Culturelle but I gradually began to notice less bloating and abdominal pain that I have long struggled with. I also have had CFS for 4 years and found little relief. The Culturelle also seems to help me think more clearly and brighten my mood which has helped me function at a more normal level. This hasn't happened overnight but gradually things are looking up.
