I wanted to share my experiences with this probiotic as it has been very beneficial for me. I am a mature lady and have suffered from irritable bowel syndrome or IBS for most of my life and have dealt with it as best I could with diet etc. In recent years I have come to suspect Candida may also have played a role in my digestive problems and problems with feeling stressed and constantly tired. I have tried quite a number of different probiotics over the past 5 years or so and have been using Bio-Kult for the past 2 of those. I have found of the probiotic products available in the UK it is far and away the best. I noticed less digestive upset after only a couple of weeks and have gradually seen my energy levels increase while I am now definitely less stressed than I was even without any decrease in the stressful events in my life. I found other probiotics worsened my bloating but have had no side-effects with Bio-Kult. It's more expensive than some other products, yes. But, it works for me so I don't mind paying that little bit extra. If you suffer from IBS or Candida and can afford to give it a try I highly recommend you do. Other probiotic products I had bought from local pharmacies had not helped at all so I wanted to make sure I got the real deal. It took a few weeks of taking Culturelle but I gradually began to notice less bloating and abdominal pain that I have long struggled with. I also have had CFS for 4 years and found little relief. The Culturelle also seems to help me think more clearly and brighten my mood which has helped me function at a more normal level. This hasn't happened overnight but gradually things are looking up. I was introduced to Align from my daughter in Florida and have used now for 6 weeks. The change has been remarkable. I can most days forget about looking for a loo and being in a constant state of panic. My bloating has subsided and I generally feel well. Over the years I have tried a number of probiotic products that have certainly altered the composition of my gut flora to some degree as I have experienced tell-tale die-off reactions while taking them. However, none of these probiotic products significantly reduced my gut symptoms of bloating, gas, and alternating constipation and diarrhoea. VSL#3 is different. After taking two packets a day for around a month I really did notice a difference. This is no doubt down to the fact that VSL#3 contains far more probiotic bacteria than other products (450 billion per packet) and has been proven effective for a number of gastrointestinal disorders in clinical trials. There are however, a few downsides. First off VSL#3 is expensive. For me at the present it is prohibitively expensive, especially using two packets per day. Also, it is a dairy-based probiotic which is a problem for me as both dairy and gluten affect my concentration and cause of symptoms associated with cognitive dysfunction. It has these great heavy duty caps that will only desolve in your intestines, like they all should.
