I am still waiting for my Nature-throid to arrive but just to let you know of the information I have found at: http://rlclabs.com/aboutUs.asp
RLC Labs, Inc supply Nature-ThroidTM, and claim that they provide the only hypoallergenic medication with a history of safety, efficacy, and consistent T3 and T4 content unmatched by anyone in the industry.
I can not wait to try it, if it works as good as the old Armour did I'll be happy but I have a feeling it may be better as RLC concentrate of providing thyroid care! Check out their web site for yourself. If any one has tried it I would love to hear your views. Denise

My tft test came back at 171, they said that is good almost in the middle. (apparently it should be somewhere between o.1 and 400)so the armour must be working even tho' its the new one. I will be trying the naturethroid when I next need to order medication. I hope it doesn't keep you awake too much and you get used to it, just goes to show tho' it has obviously speeded up your metabolism. The only other thing that cropped up in my blood tests was my glucose levels are up,(I had fasted b4 the test for 14hrs also) and my colesterol, so I have to see my gp next monday, dont know what he is going to suggest, maybe a more healthy diet/ (although i regard my diet to be very healthy). Hope you had a good weekend, I went to a barbie on saturday, and chilled sunday. it was such nice weather shame its changed. take care. tina

Denise - it sounds like you may have to reduce your dose of Naturethroid. Being unable to sleep is a clear sign of overstimulation. I have the same problem taking any (effective) thyroid medication due to poor adrenal function (adrenal fatigue). It may be that the Naturethroid formulation is more potent than Armour or your body just responds differently to it.
Great point about "white coat hypertension". This is certainly something that affects me, and I'm sure many many others. As soon as a doctor pulls out the sphygmomanometer my heart rate shoots up and obviously my blood pressure as a result. I don't really know why really. I don't like the sensation of feeling my pulse in my arm for sure but it's a bit of a over-reaction. Anyway, it certainly intereferes with the readings.
Tina - testing of TSH in isolation is a very poor indicator of your true thyroid function. You need T4, T3 (and personally I'd recommend monitoring your temperature first thing in the mornings) to get a good idea of what is going on. A high cholesterol suggests your thyroid med isn't doing its job well as high cholesterol can be a sign of hypothyroidism. Perhaps you need to increase the dose?
I'd obviously discuss all of this with your GP and if possible a doctor familiar with the reality of thyroid issues - e.g. Dr. Lowe who Denise has mentioned.
Glad you both had a good Sunday. It's definitely been nice to have some sunshine...let's hope it comes back soon. I'm best man at a wedding this coming weekend!
Take care

Denise - that would explain it as you have instantly increased your dose by 25%. Yes if you take one half and one quarter that would be 1.5 grains like you were previously taking. Hopefully the Naturethroid tablets are easy to do that with! Good luck!
