Sensitivity has increased

I just wanted to pinch and punch someone this morning. . .sometimes its  just the little things like the loneliness of this disease can get to y0u. . .or was it my vicious streak! . .anyway...

Today was my first accidental chemical exposure under the new regime, as I had to go to social services as they would not come to me. However when seeing my reaction even through a mask after a few minutes ( This as much quicker and severe than usual ie tha past 2 months) . . .its was extremely fragrant body lotion as it turns out,  I was sent home and allowed to conduct the interview over the phone. . . ( with lots of apologies,-).

Anyway can honestly say the symptoms were just different not any better,  my breathing difficulties and dizziness were lessened but  I had muscle spasms in my face head and neck and my cognitive skills went haywire, i had difficulty recalling even the simplest of things like the date and writing. . !!!  extremely spaced out and stuffy head  and muscle in my back and legs were stiff and ached,  and absolutlely wacked so last three hours have been asleep.. . .These may be familiar to some but some of these are a new and always an unwelcome set of symptoms for me. Four hours later I still have most of the symptoms without the tiredness.

Anyway I am  keeping to the detox diet. .with a no pain no gain attitude. . and have ordered through my therapist a mineral support in liquid form, a digestive enzyme support and a permeability support.

Experimenting with chickpeas later which could end up er . . in the bin, your are talking to someone how would buy this kind of stuff from the deli counter. .. . .in my old life

Hi Sarah,

I can certainly relate to your new symptoms. I never had any breathing difficulties with my chemical sensitivities just a lot of neurological and cognitive symptoms and pain. I would get a lot of dizziness, confusion, anxiety, and weakness right after an exposure and this would then turn into muscle and headaches that could last days at worst.

Another visitor (Babs) in a comment on another blog has reminded me of something I should have suggested yesterday to help you sleep and reduce symptoms of anxiety etc - epsom salt baths. Epsom salts are made up of magnesium and sulphate and magnesium has a relaxing/tranquilising effect on the body. When you bath in epsom salts the magnesium is absorbed directly through the skin. I use them myself and feel a strong relaxing effect after only 10 minutes which lasts for a few hours. You can get epsom salts fairly cheaply from the chemist or very cheaply in bulk online.

A couple of small cup fulls in a bath is enough to do the trick!

Hi Sarah, did you manage to find some epsom salts? I was in my local chemist (Boots) yesterday and was annoyed to find they have stopped stocking epsom salts! They used to sell 500g boxes for £1.50. Let me know if you can't find any out in the real world and I'll let you know where I got mine in bulk online.

Hi all, just wanted to let you know where I got my epsom salts from - http://www.justasoap.co.uk/cat...p-207.html.

The prices are far cheaper than at the high street chemist. I got the 10Kg bucket for £13.99 and it has lasted months and months!

Enjoy your bath Denise smilies/wink.gif I hope you can get hold of some soon too Sarah.

I felt very relaxed after my bath so much so I had one the next night. Yes I thought it was expensive, I will be ordering from the site, only trouble is I am not at home during the day, I have no transport and I have to pick it up from the post office which is a pain. 2 cup fulls seems a lot, my Mum said she as used them for years but she only uses a half a cup full and says too much dries your skin. Glad you're enjoying the epsom salts baths Denise smilies/smiley.gif You are experiencing the natural tranquilising effect of magnesium as it is absorbed through your skin. I was basing the 2 cups per bath on the fact I have been using half a cup in a foot bath (my flat only has a shower!). Your are probably right though. Experiment with the amount you use to find the smallest amount that still relaxes you. It's definitely worth buying online in bulk as chemist's prices are always far higher!
