Two immediate things are bothering me at the moment, mainly because I don't fully understand how they integrate into my overall health problems and whats going on behind the scenes.

Well its day 2 of gluten and dairy free and I have to admit I feel pretty awful shakey, feverish, head ache, indigestion, poor breathing, extremely swollen head painful muscles etc. But its different and have to say worse than the usual fuzzy headedness if am kept away from chemicals.
Last night I felt like an extra from train spotting going cold turkey, I had the most lucid nightmare and insomnia. . ..all this completely new to me and not very welcome I must say.

Well, I’ve had a couple of rough ‘wired’ days which aren’t hugely enjoyable.
The best way to describe the feeling is to imagine not having slept for 2 days, then using red bull or coffee to keep you awake. You don’t feel tired enough to sleep yet you are really physically and mentally shattered.

Following on from my previous blog about a NY Times article that didn't live up to its promise of offering a safe way to combat mosquitos I wanted to provide some genuine advice on non-toxic insect repellants and techniques for avoiding the troublesome pests.
After a quick internet search I came across a fantastic article on About.com written by Anne Marie Helmenstine, Ph.D., the site's chemistry guide.

As I was browsing my Google Alerts emails covering multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) yesterday I came across what looked like a very interesting article in the New York Times which looked like it would be useful for those suffering from MCS and environmental illness (EI).
The article is titled 'An Environmentally Friendly Mosquito Repellent?' so I thought, great, this sounds like great news and perfect material for my blog tomorrow. Unfortuately when I actually read the article this morning it was not what I was expecting at all.

Well I am very positive after nearly 2 hours with a nutritionalist and has agreed and identified my toxic overload by a sympton question and answer (no surprises there then) - but its some one who understands, is more than willing to help and gives me access to this all important testing.
Simple symptom question and answer has identified deficiencies in EFA Vits and Liver function, and Adrenals.

It's raining heavy out side, but what is much worse at this moment in time is the feeling of doom and gloom in my heart.
The word is that the FDA is telling people who have called their consumer hotline that they will be requiring natural thyroid drugs to go through the New Drug Application process. The question now is, when? And will they pull these drugs off the market for the several years this process can take? It's really appalling. The FDA -- which rushes to approve all sorts of dangerous and overpriced drugs -- is poised to remove from the market a drug that has been safely used for more than 100 years. And we all know what it's about. It's not about safety. It's all about market share for a certain levothyroxine manufacturer, and their ability to influence decisions at the FDA.!

This is my first attemp at a blog/blogging .. .. .however you want to describe it . . .so please bare with me
I have experienced all the highs but mostly lows of suffering with MCS. The feeling like you are going to die as our body slowly feels like its grinding to a halt and not being at all bothered or able to do anything about it, and even worse, willing it to happen to ease the pain. Being nursed through the hours of convulsions as the body reacts to something new. The isolation is difficult to deal with. People stare, laugh or cross the road when you wear your mask. . .......I often wonder what they are thinking? The financial worries of living in a place you cant afford and what happens when the savings run out.

For those of you who might be interested in learning a little more about LifeWave patches and how they work I thought I would pass on this information supplied by the company this week.
I received the information in an email as I have used a number of the patches and found them to be quite helpful, particularly the energy enhancer, glutathione (Y-Age), and Silents Nights products. I'm not suggesting by any means these products will cure chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, multiple chemical sensitivity, autism, or any other environmental illness....but in my own experience they can certainly provide an effective means of drug-free symptom relief and improvements in well-being and daily functioning.

Well I've been taking the Nature-throid for 1 week now! I do seem a little bit more tired than when I was on Armour otherwise no side effects, I have 140 of the Armour tabs left so I am going to go back to taking them as from tomorrow, as they have a much earlier use by date! That should take me to beginning of Jan 2010, when I will review the Nature-throid situation.
If you have tried or you are going to try Nature-throid I would love to hear how you get on with them, don't make my mistake and take too much. If you know of any other helpful treatments please let me know. Any advise would be welcome and I would love to hear of your experiences. Take care Denise
