The Environmental Illness Resource Blog

Commentary on environmental toxins and chronic illness.

Today I was asked the following question via a comment on my Facebook page

"In your humble opinion, WHY is media & gov't ignoring the plight of over 2.3+ billion people in their suffering? Is it because of their involvement in bioweaponizing this bacteria on Plum Island or is it deeper than this? This is question many of us are plagued with... God Bless Always. Thank you." Mary B.

Childhood Stress and Lyme Disease

Childhood Lyme infections can be somewhat easier to address, due to the pristine nature of most children’s bodies, and if it is caught early. At the same time, Lyme in children can be devastating; depending upon their health heritage and the degree of balanced life and stress in the child’s life prior to becoming sick. These issues will dictate how well a child processes through the illness.
In a child’s life, stress comes from all directions. In children, as in adults, prolonged stress predisposes one to illness by changing the cellular chemistry.
It must be remembered that every thought, especially those thoughts backed by strong emotions, is every cell’s command to change its chemical production in order to bring that thought/emotion into reality. Strong negative emotions promote alterations in the immune system’s ability to keep bacteria and other microbes under control, not to mention shift the integrity of every tissue of the body.
Stress always affects organs. Every type of stress will target a specific organ. The liver is specifically targeted and damaged in the long run by intense and usually suppressed feelings of resentment, frustration, and irritability.

Worry seems to preferentially affect the kidneys, and so forth. Imbalance creates illness. Restoring the functional integrity and balance is the pure goal of biological medicine.

Plum blossoms covered the trees on the hillside overlooking the house and garden. A warm breeze sent thousands of petals swirling up into the blue sky like a synchronized flight of white butterflies. As the breeze abandoned them aloft the flight broke apart into graceful catchers of sunlight as they drifted down eventually settling in a delicately scented caress on her body as Su Lin lay on her pallet in the garden as part of her prescribed treatment. The physician leaned over her administering his potent tea of carefully selected herbs. He would not be paid on this visit.

Fuel Oil Disaster in our 150yr old Home

Hello Everyone, I'm Sandi.  I'm online looking for advice, information, and support for what is currently going on in my life.  I'm also willing to return the above if I can to anyone in need.

Almost 3 weeks ago now, a fuel oil company pumped 250+ gallons of fuel oil into my 150+ yr old family homestead basement.  We neither ordered it or were even their customers.  It was to go across the street to our uncle's house.  Needless to say we are still dealing with the cleanup and all of its after effects.

Can Lyme Disease Be Cured?

The question of whether or not Lyme disease can be cured is a recurring question that is asked every doctor who is faced with a person suffering from the disease.

The term “Cure” is almost taboo in the healing arts profession. No doctor that I know of is willing to say they can cure any illness…especially not Lyme disease.

It may seem that I am 'anti-antibiotic treatment'; however, the reality is that there is a time and a place in which antibiotics can be beneficial for some people.

The question that dominates most Lyme Disease Forums is why don’t I feel better, even after doing everything I can think of to get well.

The dominant protocols are conventional medicine’s Long-term antibiotics, and natural medicine protocols; such as the Zhang Protocol, The Cowden Protocol, The Klinghardt Protocol, and The Jernigan Perfect-7 Protocol.

American Biological Medicine™ - A New Healthcare Solution

American Biological Medicine is based upon a relatively new philosophy within what is generically termed Alternative Medicine. This new philosophy is called Biological Medicine. Biological Medicine recognizes that all aspects of the body, mind, and spirit must be addressed and brought into optimal integrity before lasting health can be achieved.

Unlike other body/mind/spirit philosophies of the healing arts, American Biological Medicine is unique in that it is able to utilize the highly scientific, adjunctive diagnostic and treatment technique, Bio-Resonance Scanning™ (BRS), as well as conventional tests and the ancient healing arts of observation and intuition, to rapidly and accurately determine where interferences exist within the body, mind, or spirit. BRS helps to greatly diminish the educated “guesswork” of doctoring. BRS can be used to flow dynamically, in real-time, from interference-diagnostics to treatment selection and its correct application.
The reason it is important to discuss Biological Medicine and Bio-Resonance Scanning™ here is so that it can be appreciated as not promoting more “Drug-induced illusions of health, nor is promoting another “cookbook” solution to healing from any illness.
Cookbook healing means that, once diagnosed, the person is put on a standard “recipe” that is supposed to heal everyone. The reality is that as different as each of us look from one another on the outside, we are all just as unique on the inside.

I am hoping to get some feedback that will help me.  I do have 5 dogs that are house dogs.  They are all rescue dogs and I live in a very hot climate.  I can't put my dogs outside when the temp. is in the 90's or 100's.

I have been reading about the allergy problems that can come from dogs being in the house.  I have also found some very good information for dealing with it, such as --
