Its been a while since my last entry. I had nothing to report except various chemical exposures before christmas which wiped out 9 days of my life and another four pounds off my already pathetic 7st 10lb frame. I think I qualify as size zero Uk size 6. I eat 3 meals a day when I am not ill (on those days I dont not even get out of bed) have been known to tuck into a whole bag of kettle chips! . I am just wiped out by chemicals in everything I cant afford organic everything so am at risk at every meal from potential toxic injury. I am free of dairy and gluten to free my body of further toxic overload and cant tolerate any food additives or preservatives.
Well my Christmas money has been invested in supplements which I started taking 3 weeks ago. I am supposed to take 2 L Glutathione complex tablets and 300mg of magnesium citrate a day. I am up to 150mg of magnesium citrate a day and had to reduce the L-Glutathione complex to one as they gave me mild pain in my kidney (anyone familair with this side effect?). Increase again in 3 weeks. This according the the doctor at Acumen may reduce my sensitivities.

When it comes to pain control, we're all looking for information, help and absolute mercy, assuming you're actually in a lot of pain. People who have never had a history with being in chronic pain, do not know what they're missing. People who do live in chronic pain have a healthy respect for the symptom. They live with the horrors of pain all the time!
I recently put a post on the Health Matters Show about how to successful live "in pain" with Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and learn to conquer it, to some degree. And I've put this particular tip on the website because most of us hate to take pain medicines all the time. Prescription drugs are not healthy for you over the long term.

I've always viewed meditation as something I would like to do, but thus far have struggled to get motivated to do it. It's odd, and difficult to rationalise, but for some reason it doesn't come easy wanting to learn to relax. Perhaps this is a hangup of western culture in general, and the need to always be 'switched on'.

What It Means to Feel Better
I have to be honest... this blog input here at EIR has me a bit bamboozled, so I'll simply list the 2 entries I posted today on my Health Matters Show blog and podcast, for people who want to get well from Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome.

As someone who has suffered from chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), adrenal fatigue (AF) and a host of related concerns for almost 19 years now, since the age of 12, I am acutely aware of the need to pace myself. I know I should not take on too much at once and allow myself time to relax and recuperate, at least to some small degree, yet after all these years I still find this extremely difficult.
ME/CFS patients have often been reported to be disproportionately Type A personalities as a group. This study refers to the "action-proneness" of patients i.e. our need to always be on the go and engaged in activity of some kind, whether physical or mental. I can certainly relate to that. Here I am so many years after becoming ill and I am singlehandedly running this website (which is now a BIG job!) and also trying to complete my studies for a bachelor's degree in nutritional health. I also find it very hard to say no to social invitations. I'm sure you can imagine I am not feeling too great at the moment as a result!

I received an email update this week on the work of the European Society for ME (ESME) that I thought you may be interested in. ESME is a Think Tank of top scientists in fields relevant to myalgic encephalomyelitis/chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS) where the latest research and knowledge on the illness can be discussed and efforts made to propogate this to the medical profession to improve care for patients.
ESME was founded just last year and had its launch meeting on June 13th, in Stavanger, Norway. The launch was well covered by the mainstream media and the following are summaries of this coverage with links to full articles and videos.

With all the prolonged profound stress of the last decade my Adrenal Glands officially raised the white flag--some time ago. More recently, after the fire and through the sprains and facial fractures, they have sent me a series of increasingly louder signals that have brought me to my knees.
From my knees, honoring the symptoms, ready to listen now... Thank you.
I am finally ready to let my adrenals (and the rest of my body) guide me onto a path of taking better care of my whole being--or at least this little piece of the physical universe that I that I happen to wake up inside of every morning.
Below is the start my "doctor heal thyself adrenal health plan". I offer it as a starting place for anyone considering their own need for deep rejuvenation from stress and adrenal fatigue.
FOR THE MIND Holding the self in high esteem. Seeing/Knowing/Believing that I deserve good health. Learning to listen well and to communicate well. Letting go of taking things personally. Lowering my tolerance to stress. Knowing when to say “No”, AND saying it. Letting go of perfection. Letting go of over-thinking. Letting go of mentally simulating all possible catastrophes. Remembering that life is NOT an emergency. Taking moments to breath and relax frequently. Taking it very easy on the self. Letting the self be exactly who and exactly where it is. Loving and forgiving the self. Extending love and forgiveness to everyone else. Protecting the self from damaging people and situations. Seeing that kicking for the big (Mahayana) raft means taking care of the self too. Finding/Creating a Spiritual Practice or otherwise celebrating meaning. Doing work that feeds my soul in a way that honors my whole being. Remembering that I am always already encountering the right people and the right circumstances at the right time.
MORE TANGIBLY. Resting within a more normal sleep schedule. Frolicking in a diet with lots of fresh fruits and veggies Moderating: sugar, flour, synthetic chemicals and prepared foods. Enjoying regular moderate exercise and lots of fresh air.
(dancing, biking, walking, running, swimming, hiking, skiing, climbing, laughing)
NUTRIENT FRIENDS Selenium (crimini mushrooms, wild red snapper & cod, boiled organic eggs) Tyrosine (spirulina, seaweed, egg whites, soy protein, wild salmon, mustard greens) Vitamin-C (bell peppers, parsley, lemons, grapefruit) B5 (more crimini mushrooms, avocado, broccoli, frozen strawberries) B6 (spinach, turnip greens, garlic, cauliflower, cabbage) Folic Acid (romaine lettuce, asparagus, turnips, mustard greens)
HERBAL FRIENDS: Ashwaganda Panax Ginseng Eleuthero Rhodiola Licorice Tea--and taking the time to really enjoy it.
I invite your comments, suggestions, and questions.
In Love and Health, ~T.R.

Many people who develop chronic illnesses find that conventional medical care is inadequate for treating their symptoms and incapable of giving them the quality of life they desire. This is a major reason why many of us turn to complementary and alternative medicine (CAM). Many CAM therapies are proposed to work through the so called 'mind-body connection'.
Despite a now well established body of sound scientific evidence this connection is usually ignored by conventional medicine which still thinks of the body and mind as being seperate. In conventional medicine there is no room for a "spiritual" aspect to healing at all.
