Cookies

Cookies are small files automatically installed on your computer when you visit certain web sites. These files can be used for various reasons, some harmless, some malicious. The Environmental Illness Resource will store cookies on your computer ONLY if you register as a user. The cookies are only used in the login process e.g. so the site knows if you are logged in or not and how long you have been logged in. We will not use cookies for any purpose other than to ensure the site itself functions correctly with regard to members logging in.

Funding Sources

The Environmental Illness Resource is funded entirely through advertising revenue (see 'Advertising Policy') and commissions from products sold through our store and other pages throughout the site. The site has no sources of external funding.

Advertising Policy

You will see various forms of advertising on the this site. Text advertising is supplied by Google and you will see a number of 'ad units' in various locations on each page. Advertisements provided by Google clearly state 'Ads by Google'. You will also notice that in the text of most pages some of the words are double underlined in green. When you hover your mouse over these advertisements will be displayed. These advertisements are provided by Kontera. For both of these forms of advertising The Environmental Illness Resource receives a small fee each time an advertising link is clicked.

You may also see products for sale throughout the site. For any of these (Google and Kontera excluded) The Environmental Illness Resource only receives a commission if you follow a link to a vendors website and make a purchase there.

We only show advertisements that are relevant to the content of the site i.e. health.
