Approaches and Treatments for Healing the Blood-Brain Barrier

Discussion started by Maff 5 years ago

Hi all,

I recently wrote a blog post explaining what the blood-brain barrier (BBB) is, how it protects the brain, and how it can become damaged and hyperpermeable to neurotoxins.

I also described measures that can be taken to prevent damage to the BBB and a couple of nutrients that have some evidence for their ability to heal the BBB and restore its permeability to a normal level.

My blog post can be found here: Treatments to Protect and Heal the Blood-Brain Barrier

I hope it is of interest to you and perhaps you have suggestions that I have missed? If so, please do share below...

Talking about sulphurorphans reminded of Dr. Terry Wahls who cured her MS. Great story if anyone hasn't heard it yet. I am just starting this diet.... Or similar to it.

Since writing this blog post I have already been informaed by a reader that sulforophane - a chemical compound found in broccoli - is another nutritional supplement that can potentially heal the BBB. I will do some research on this and update as necessary.
