How to Reverse Metabolic Syndrome Naturally

Features of Metabolic Syndrome

People who frequently snore have a higher chance of developing metabolic syndrome. According to statistics, adults who snore are two times more likely to develop the symptom within a 3 year period. Loud snorers tend to have high blood pressure (hypertension) and their good cholesterol (HDL) tends to be under the recommended level. All these contribute to developing metabolic syndrome and make you prone to diseases like diabetes, preterm birth, depression, and heart disease. Fortunately, you can reverse the effect of snoring and metabolic syndrome with the following 6 tips.

1. Don’t Eat Processed Food

If you want to get rid of metabolic syndrome, you must stop eating processed food. Processed food has lesser nutrients and they are filled with sodium, sugar and chemical additives. Examples of processed food include canned food, artificial sweeteners, food in packages, and fast food. Diet soda should also be avoided even though it is advertised as having the ability to help you lose weight. Research shows that a high percentage of people that consume diet soda develops metabolic syndrome.

2. Don’t Eat High Trans Fat Food

You should avoid eating food that contains a high level of trans fat. Food with a lot of trans fat are food made from hydrogenated oil and fat, for example, margarine. Baked goods like cookies, and cakes are examples of food that have a high level of trans fat. They can increase the excess fat on different areas of your body and deteriorate your heart health.

3. Don’t Eat Too Much Refined Carbohydrate Food

To curb your metabolic syndrome, you must stop eating too much refined carbohydrates in your diet. Refined carbohydrates is derived from natural food but they have undergone a modification such as change in the enzyme, extraction and etc which makes them not nutritious anymore. Examples of refined carbohydrate are white flour, pasta, pastries, white bread, starches and sugars. It is responsible for most of the metabolic disorder occurrence.

4. Limit Alcohol Intake

Limiting the intake of alcohol can also reduce the metabolic syndrome. Alcohol is capable of increasing the blood pressure when you drink too much of it. Many people also are not aware that drinking alcohol beverage can cause them to become fat because it contains calories. On the other hand, research has discovered that small alcohol consumption may be able to lower the risk of developing the metabolic syndrome.

5. Eat Lots of Vegetables and Fruits

Everyday, you must eat lots of vegetables, fruits, seeds and nuts. Fruits like citrus and berries contain a high level of antioxidants that can help to fight against the free radicals that damage your tissues. Eating fish can improve your immune system and reduce the inflammation that causes the metabolic syndrome to occur. Fish contains a high level of omega 3 acid and flax oil that are good for your heart. You can slowly get rid of the unhealthy food from your diet in a period that span over a few months until you are used to eating the healthy diet.

6. Reduce Your Blood Pressure

Lowing your blood pressure can eliminate the metabolic syndrome. To lower your blood pressure, you must stop adding too much salt and MSG to your food. Exercising regularly can reduce the blood pressure level and make your heart healthier. When you exercise, it will relieve some of your stress that is causing the spike in your blood pressure.
