Study: Thimerosal Containing Vaccines Linked with Neurodevelopmental DisordersStudy: Thimerosal Containing Vaccines Linked with Neurodevelopmental Disorders

"Thimerosal, a mercury-containing vaccine preservative, is a suspected factor in the etiology of neurodevelopmental disorders," say researchers at the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology.
In an age old debate, the vaccine industry claims their vaccines are safe and protective against disease while an increasing number of parent claim they cause diseases like autism.
Thimerosal and mercury toxicity has been linked to mercury toxicity by many parents of autistic children and various advocacy organizations. The vaccine industry staunchly denies a connection.
Researchers have shown in previous studies that administration of thimerosal to infant rats causes behavioral, petrochemical and neuropath logical abnormalities similar to those in autism.
In a new study, thimerosal administration to rats induced lasting changes in the brain, an amino acid overflow that resulted in an increase of glutamate and aspartate and a decrease of glycine and alanine.
Excessive accumulation glutamate is linked with excitotoxicity.
Thus, administration of thimerosal-containing vaccines might be responsible for excitotoxic brain injuries which lead to neurodevelopmental disorders.
