Letter to the Ombudsman - had reply he is looking in to it........
Dear Ombudsman,
I am writing to you because I don't have the internet at home and don't have much time at work! I have tried PALS and written to my ex doctors directly, I want something done about this injustice!
I have so many questions. I am truly mystified at why Doctors seem to delight in kicking patients while they're down!
I have been fighting my right to health for over two years now!
Although I had almost every single symptom and a family history of hypothyroidism my doctors wouldn't treat me until I reached '10' [for TSH] on their stupid scale. I put on 3 stone, had symptoms too numerous to mention and thought I was going crazy! On the 2nd September 2008, I final reached this goal, then and only then did they say "You will be glad to know we can treat you now." I was angry, disgusted and seething but took my T4 gladly at first; they made me very ill while I took them for seven months, until I'd really had enough of all the debilitating symptoms.
Still gaining weight and very few if any symptoms less, I obtained Armour off the internet, what wonderful stuff, I can feel me coming back. How strange that the endocrinologist said I would have a placebo effect. I never felt well not even for one day on the other stuff. What a fantastic placebo that makes my hair shine, gives me energy, makes my face spot free and most importantly brings a smile to my face. The only symptoms I have left are shortness of breath sometimes and occasional tiredness, it's great but my useless ex doctors, all 5 of them, said they would not test my bloods if I continued on this dangerous route. Only things dangerous I can see are staying on synthetic rubbish that does nothing but make you feel worse, and of course most dangerous of all, having such unhelpful doctors.
I am taking a 1.5 Armour tablet per day; I feel wonderful and want to stay that way. It would be great if I could find a doctor to prescribe Armour for me rather than buying from the internet.
What is the motivation of doctors who apparently don't want you to get properly diagnosed or live and feel well? Do they have some sort of vested interest in ensuring higher rates of infertility, recurrent miscarriage, obesity, high cholesterol and heart disease etc, etc, by denying thyroid patients proper thyroid diagnosis and treatment?
I am not saying all doctors are in on it. I know most are all just doing what they are told by the senior consultants.
The recent press release by the UK's Royal College of Physicians about the new guidelines on the diagnosis and management of primary hypothyroidism leaves me totally mystified. It's worse than the MP's with their expenses; we are dealing with peoples lives here!
Why are things moving backward, instead of forward? Why are is the medical profession closing ranks, to not only prevent advancements in thyroid diagnosis and treatment, but to actually restrict advancement, and make things worse for thyroid patients. Do you have any answers?
I've been giving the matter an awful lot of thought over the past year or so and I think the answer is obvious. It's because they are being paid to! I know it sounds cynical, but the reluctance to use natural hormones instead of synthetic drugs, is it because you can not make money out of a hormone, as it is natural and can't be patented? What I am saying is the whole thing is a big conspiracy to make more money!
I feel like I am just a small part of the whole picture, a pawn in somebody else's game plan.
Armour, has been around a long time, it was only in the 1950's that synthetics took over opening up a Pandora's Box of new ills. There is no evidence against it; it is better and more natural. I'm animal not synthetic, Armour gives me everything my body needs, T1, T2, T3 and T4 it's not rocket science!
Now successfully treated with Armour I can get on with my life, remain productive, healthy and work and pay taxes. I feel wonderful! No more falls, no more constant chest pains, the sickness and diarrhoea went within two days of taking Armour, I have no more brain fog, clear as a bell and I'm as happy as Larry! Just one little symptom left, I still get out of breath and I could bet my life that was caused by taking the synthetic T4 that my body could not tolerate for seven months.
My complaint is about The Village Practice
Mere Lane Armthorpe
Doncaster
DN3 2DB
They insisted I kept taking Levothyroxine, even though I had an extreme adverse reaction to them. Sever chest pains, my lack of balance and 3 bad falls were my biggest concerns, and when I told my doctors this I was told to double my dose! I was insulted repeatedly told ‘People like me should not get free prescriptions', I do not want to fight the system, having a life long illness I just want the system to work for me! They struck me off their register because I don't have confidence in them, you bet I don't, but actually I would put it a lot stronger than that!
Nothing is more closed than a closed mind that thinks it's open
and nothing is more manipulated than a manipulated mind that thinks it's free. The great task in life is to find reality.
looking forward to your reply, I hope someone out there can restore my faith in this country.
Yours Sincerely,
-

Hi IĂƒÂ¢Ă¢â€Â¬Ă¢â€Â¢ve had another reply, saying I have not gone through the proper channels. Should have contact the Practice Manager, God I tried! Also should have gone through PALS apparently, all they told me was they would write to the Doctor on my behalf; please explain to me why I canĂƒÂ¢Ă¢â€Â¬Ă¢â€Â¢t write a letter? I donĂƒÂ¢Ă¢â€Â¬Ă¢â€Â¢t need any one to do it for me! In any case I did write one and got struck off as a result. Just red tape delaying tactics, but IĂƒÂ¢Ă¢â€Â¬Ă¢â€Â¢ve not finished yet, I want justice and I want others to join with me and try to beat the system, but I fear that Doctors bank balances are far more important than their patients, itĂƒÂ¢Ă¢â€Â¬Ă¢â€Â¢s a sad state of affairs, this is country is so corrupt! Off on hols next Wednesday, will spend some time considering my next move and enjoying the sunshine. Still feeling wonderful.
