Where is the light?

It's raining heavy out side, but what is much worse at this moment in time is the feeling of doom and gloom in my heart.

The word is that the FDA is telling people who have called their consumer hotline that they will be requiring natural thyroid drugs to go through the New Drug Application process. The question now is, when? And will they pull these drugs off the market for the several years this process can take? It's really appalling. The FDA -- which rushes to approve all sorts of dangerous and overpriced drugs -- is poised to remove from the market a drug that has been safely used for more than 100 years. And we all know what it's about. It's not about safety. It's all about market share for a certain levothyroxine manufacturer, and their ability to influence decisions at the FDA.!

There are no words to express how I feel, I am usually a very optimistic person but this is just unbelievable! I will not go back to Levo-hell, no way not in a million years.

Even if the sun where out it would still be raining in my heart............. Denise

  • I 've had a lap top donated free, which is why I am going to do my own site, perhaps you will contribute to it? I am hoping to get people like us to write about their own personal struggles and their search for the right to live life to the full. I will keep you posted Denise.

  • Aw thats great news Denise, its lovely being a Grandma! I have 2 grandchildren. Great news about the site too, you will have to get a pc at home now, so hopefully the money will go towards that as well. are you doing anything special for your 50th? (I let mine slip by quietly lol!) keep me posted, let me know if you go and see a specialist. take care. tina

  • Hi, Yes fingers, toes and eyes crossed Tina. I have been very busy too, I am going to be a Nan, Grand daughter due being of March, plus it's my 50th on the 19th. I been mostly busy contemplating my future, I come into a little bit of money soon and I am considering investing it on going to see a specialist. IĂƒÂ¢Ă¢â€šÂ¬Ă¢â€žÂ¢ve also been doing lots of research as I plan to open up my own site soon. If there is a light I will find it. I have gained strength, courage and confidence over the last couple of years it's surprising how you change when you have to look fear in the face! I thought I was invincible and now I know I am LOL Denise

  • Hi Denise! hope all is well with you? I have been away in cyprus with my family for 3 weeks, had a lovely relaxing time! been very busy helping my daughters boyfriend move into his new flat as well. I have only 2 days worth of armour left now so I will be trying the Naturethroid in the next couple of days.....ewww fingers crossed eh? i will let you know how I get on with it. catch up soon. take care. tina

  • Yes it's the FDA and it stinks to high heaven, after all natural thyroid granulars have been used for over a 100 years. It's all about politics and money not about people's quality of life. This illness as opened my eyes to a crupt world that I previouly knew nothing about and it make my heart heavy with the injustice of it all! Denise

  • Oh that's awful Denise. I just had a thought though. If it's the FDA that is trying to regulate the natural thyroid products perhaps the manufacturers will shift production elsewhere or new companies may come along in their place. Like I said, there is always another way ;)

  • There is a very good reason I can not take a combination of T4 and T3 and that is I have a very serve reaction to the synthetics, it's a life long problem I could'nt take the pill or any other manufactured medicine for that matter with out feeling worse than taking nothing at all, so I can not go there! It has to be natural or my body rejects it, any thing synthetic really upsets my insides and it comes back out one way or another. Denise

  • This truly is bad news Denise but please don't despair just yet. I think I've gathered from your previous posts that you never tried the combination of thyroxine with T3 medication. This may be as effective as natural thyroid glandulars or at least a close approximation.

In any case this will probably take an age for the FDA to get underway if that's what they are going to do.....so stock up on Armour or Naturethroid now.

Remember, there is always another way...
