Well its day 2 of gluten and dairy free and I have to admit I feel pretty awful shakey, feverish, head ache, indigestion, poor breathing, extremely swollen head painful muscles etc. But its different and  have to say worse than the usual fuzzy headedness if am kept away from chemicals.

Last night I felt like an extra from train spotting going cold turkey, I had the most lucid nightmare and insomnia. . ..all this completely new to me and not very welcome I must say.

Anyway am off back for a lie down as am feel extremely spaced and head feels like someone is pumping it up and doesn't know when to stop!

  • Thanks Bz,

Sorry for the delayed response, had a two week holiday at carefully prepared cottage on remote Northumberlad coast.

It is really frustrating in severity of symptoms can alter over short time periods due to supplement or dietry changes it a minefiled that I am getting to the end of my tether with. One step forward five back. Hopefully I can write something positive next time.

Would love to hear more about the detoxx

  • Hi Sarah, Ultratrace is a trace mineral supplement which supplies minerals the body requires in trace (very small quantities). Although these are important for good health they are not likely to help you with your current symptoms.

  • Ah ha found where I can read your comments. I have just order soem Ultratrace formerly concentrace does this have any of the above ingredients?

  • Hi Sarah,

I hope you're feeling a little better now. I have to say this reaction sounds extreme but since gluten and casein metabolites can act as opiates its certainly possible you are going through withdrawal. The symptoms certainly match.

To help you through it all I can offer is support and a few suggestions. There are a few supplements that act as natural tranquilisers and may well reduce the severity of your symptoms. Off the top of my head I would suggest niacinamide (a form of vitamin 3) at doses of 500-1000mg/day, inositol, l-theanine, l-ornithine, l-arginine, valerian, and adrenal support nutrients such as vitamin B5 and vitamin C.

Hang in there and keep us updated!
