Natural Home Remedies For Taking Care Of Your Skin

It's spring, finally--Goodbye icy mornings and hello sunshine!

Spring though may not sound all that fun when your skin is dull, dry or, breaking out from the frost.  Skin problems in spring get worse because many of us falsely believe that exfoliation must be generally avoided during the winter months.  The result: a build up of rough, flaky skin.  Don't get into hydration immediately.  Go through the entire process of exfoliating, cleansing, toning, and moisturizing.

Follow these simple steps to whip up your own homemade skin care potions and you'll be surprised soon enough to find out you're blooming in your own skin---and you need not withdraw money from your hard earned savings to get a lovely look that matches the perfect blooms of spring!

Step 1: Exfoliate.  You can't  possibly grow soft, young-looking skin when old skin cells are still sticking out and holding on to your skin.  Slough off the rough outer layer of your skin and let young skin surface.

Start by cleaning your face thoroughly with a mild facial cleanser and water. Squeeze the juice of one lemon in a glass.  Using a cotton ball, apply the lemon juice on your face and let it dry. Lemon has natural astringent properties, and is a powerful natural source of alphahydroxy acids (AHA), which gently lift old, dead skin cells.  Try other alternatives also rich in natural AHAs like yogurt which contains high levels of lactic acid or, sugar which is a natural source of glycolic acid.

After washing off, follow up with honey.  Honey is a natural antiseptic and humectant, helping prevent skin infections and brings back lost moisture from exfoliating too. Repeat the routine twice or thrice a week only.

Step 2: Cleanse and tone.  Keep your daily skin cleansing routine tough on skin infection-causing microorganisms but gentle on your skin.  Radiant and healthy skin begins with a skin kept clean regularly.  Never allow foreign bodies to rest for long periods on your skin to avoid acne and other skin infections from taking hold of your skin.  Wash your face immediately after exposure to dust, dirt, and other pollutants.  Never wear makeup to bed.

Cleansing is a must for everyone but toning is particularly a must for people with oily skin. Toning helps remove excess oil from pores and keeps pores tiny thus, preventing deposits of oil and dirt on skin.

Try these easy, DIY skincare recipes and experience skin that is free from harmful chemicals from beauty products that can cause your skin to become irritated and more sensitive to allergens and sunlight. Grab a large tomato.  Slice into quarters.  Using a coriander, squeeze the juice of the tomato into a clean glass bottle to leave the seeds behind.  If desired, and particularly recommended for people with dry skin, get a small (salad-size) cucumber and slice thinly.  Put in blender.  Pour into the same bottle as your tomato extract using a coriander to separate the seeds.  Give it a gentle shake.  Using a cotton ball, dab the solution all over your face.  This serves both to cleanse and help tone the skin.

Step 3: Moisturize.  A well-hydrated skin is the foundation of healthy, young-looking skin that stays youthful for longer.  That said, make it a point never to leave your skin dehydrated.  The very basic thing you can do to keep your skin moisturized is to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

Keep skin surface soft and supple with natural and essential oils like coconut oil, almond oil, shea butter, and rose water.  The bad news is that it's not that simple to DIY a natural moisturizer, more so if the objective is to keep it in your purse all the time.  In the case of essential oils, there are safety issues attached to their handling.  The good news is that a number of natural, all-organic moisturizers are now available in the market.  All you need to is to google up the ingredients and the manufacturer.  Make sure your store is a trusted source.

Conclusion

Healthy skin is never out of season. Keep it fresh, clear, and glowing by subscribing to a simple daily skincare routine that won't harm your skin or your budget.
