From the Author

Still the most practical for MANY who suffer unknowingly
Trained as a "regular" doctor at very fine schools, I discovered about yeast when I was looking for solutions for patient problems that "wouldn't get better." I spent 3 years perfecting a treatment program that is very simple, very direct -- and very successful. The book describes exactly what you need to know to "get better," under the care of a local physician willing to help you recover your health -- even if he/she has to step into "alternative" approaches because "usual" care simply fails to produce the results. Since 1986 publication, the treatment program has hardly changed -- that speaks to a successful, basic plan that addresses most problems for most readers who are suffering. Patients and physicians from around the world have written me for assistance with their illness problems. Happily, I have been able to stand by "the basics" explained in The Yeast Syndrome book, simply because a true understanding is hard to beat. In the past 12 years, we've gotten newer diagnostic and treatment tools, so your own physician might have some "new twists" -- that's great. But the key to understanding why you got sick and how to get better are in the pages of this wonderful book. Since publishing The Yeast Syndrome, I've gone on to self-publish books on degenerative joint disease, heavy metal intoxications, and cardiovascular diseases. The Yeast Syndrome remains my most popular work -- what I wrote is very likely true for you, young and old, boy and girl, man and woman. Please feel free to share your reviews. And please follow the program advised by your cooperative physician, so that you might enjoy more robust and exuberant health -- for the rest of your life!

Editor reviews

This is the first book I read regarding Candida/Yeast related illness and it really opened my eyes and convinced me that this was something I needed to explore further in relation to my own health problems. I had been diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome 6/7 years previously and having had no help from the medical profession up to that point I felt I had to explore all the possibilities for myself. Although this book was first published in 1986 it is still the most comprehensive title on the subject in my opinion. It provides the most detailed scientific and medical information whilst remaining easy to read. The Yeast Syndrome includes detailed questionnaires to help determine if you might have a yeast problem before moving on to a comprehensive 4-stage diet and antifungal plan to restore health. The author provides extensive listings of foods with their carbohydrate content and allergy potential. Finally the book contains sections describing the connections between yeast and other illnesses including multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) and mental illness.

If you suspect that yeast/Candida may be causing your health problems or you are suffering from various vague and unexplained symptoms then I can't recommend this book highly enough, especially as you can pick it up for next to nothing!
