Ok..i've recently been doing the hydrogen peroxide protocol which hasn't got me very far. So I'm currently researching Iodine and considering taking daily drops of the stuff.

I just thought I'd share this interesting article about its potency against candida albicans:

"Results: C. albicans cells were highly resistant to calcium hydroxide. Sodium hypochlorite (5% and 0.5%) and iodine (2%) potassium iodide (4%) killed all yeast cells within 30 s, whilst chlorhexidine acetate (0.5%) showed complete killing after 5 min"

Sorry to hear the H2O2 drops haven't brought any relief yet. Any antifungal is going to take time to address a long standing GI overgrowth however so might be worth sticking with it longer. The immune system itself uses H2O2 as a weapon against microbes in the form of "oxidative bursts" from white blood cells...and nature usually knows best.

Iodine doesn't get mentioned that often but that paper you linked to certainly provides food for thought! It also reminded me that another member had mentioned iodine for treating Candida at some point so I searched the site and found the thread. It has a lot of links about iodine and Candida and aloso thyroid health. It's important to get a high quality supplement that you can be sure is pure when it comes to iodine so I figure some of the links might be helpful to you. Povidone-iodine enema as a preoperative bowel preparation for colorectal surgery. A bacteriologic study:

Abstract
To evaluate the effects of povidone-iodine (PI) enema on the bacterial flora of colorectal mucosa, the authors studied 113 patients who were candidates for colorectal surgery. The study of the rectum included 72 patients. Total bacterial concentrations after a PI enema (N = 44) were significantly lower than after a simple water enema (N = 12, P less than 0.001), or than after a water enema associated with intravenous metronidazole (N = 16, P less than 0.01). The study of the colon included 41 patients. Total bacterial concentrations did not differ after a PI enema (N = 24) than after a water enema (N = 11); both groups were associated with intravenous metronidazole. In contrast, both preparations significantly reduced bacterial concentrations when compared with oral administration of polyethyleneglycol (N = 6, P less than 0.01). Similar results were observed in rectal and colonic studies, when analysis was restricted to the anaerobic flora. PI is an antiseptic that, when administered alone in an enema or in association with metronidazole, significantly reduces bacterial concentrations in the mucosa of the colon and rectum. It may be proposed as a simple preoperative preparation for colorectal surgery.
