TOPIC: Gupta Amygdala Retraining: I no longer have mcs!

Gupta Amygdala Retraining: I no longer have mcs! 12 years 8 months ago #1

Hello all,
I have been doing the Gupta Amygdala Retraining programme, and I adapted it to work for mcs. I no longer have mcs.

This programme is explained here:
https://www.guptaprogram.com

Annie Hopper also has a programme specifically for mcs using very similar principles of brain plasticity:
RetrainingTheBrain.com/

I no longer have mcs.

I was extremely sick with mcs for about 10 years. I had some improvements using NAET, and more with supplements. But I still lived a life of isolation. To go into public, I had to wear Tyvek coveralls with the hood up (I had to be cleared to wear the tyvek which is #2 plastic), a half respirator, and gloves. Now, I can go into hardware stores, go to movies, go shopping.... go anywhere!

The freedom came with Gupta's self-treatments.

It is a different hypothesis about why we stay ill. I recommend reading about brain plasticity in books like Dr. Doidge's "The Brain that Changes Itself" or Sharon Begley's "Train your Mind, Change your Brain".

If you are interested in these treatments, I also recommend the support groups at Planet Thrive.

Sincerely,
(was) Lady Itchalot

That's fantastic!

I know you are active on a number of other sites (who has time for them all!) so thanks for taking the time to come and share your good news with us :)

As you know, I was aware of how sick you were and many people often ask about Ashok Gupta and Annie Hopper's programs so brilliant to hear a positive report from someone who had tried so many treatment options.

I have been interested in neural plasticity for a long time after reading Dr. Jay Goldstein's book 'Tuning the Brain' many years ago. Dr. Goldstein used medications and supplements to "tune the brain" but his ultimate aim was to utilise neural plasticity to treat those with MCS, ME/CFS, fibro etc. I believe I recovered from MCS myself primarily through the effects of DHEA supplementation on my brain (DHEA is a "calming" neurosteroid - thus reduces amygdala activity).

So we have two routes to the same destination but the common denominator is neural plasticity. Read up on it people as it may well help you regain your health!

Thanks again for sharing 'LadyItchesNoMore' ;)

I hope you continue to see improvements in your health. Keep us updated if you can!

Dear Lady Itchalot (was)

Congratulations on curing yourself.
I was thinking of buying the Gupta retraining program. How long did it take before you felt it effects ?
( I have a nerve sensitivty to new clothes and haven't been able to wear any for the last 8 years )

Regards

Hi Gus,
I noticed its effects within days. It is suggested that you give it 6 months. For some, that is enough time to recover; for others it is not. Everybody is different, of course.

I had done a lot of reading leading up to finding out about these programmes, about brain plasticity. Have you read Dr. Norman Doidge's book "The Brain That Changes Itself"?

I kept thinking that it was weird that I was so sick from so many things that didn't adversely affect my family. Plasticity explains it well!
At the same time that the senses are bringing in new perceptions (neural pathways firing) the amygdala has been trained by past experiences to continuously fire.
This book taught me that "Neurons that fire together, wire together." In other words, my brain had been wired to keep the amygdala firing whenever any of the senses had fired.

We don't treat the sensitivity. There are too many sensations and pathways to treat. We treat the amygdala. When it begins to calm, you will begin to see fewer reactions or reactions of less duration. When the amygdala returns to a normal state, we become mcs-free. Yay!

I also had sensitivity to new clothes, tight clothes, clothes made of different materials... It worked on that too!

I also highly recommend the support group at Planet Thrive. It helps to ask questions during the process!

Many thanks ( the former ) Lady Itchalot

I haven't read the book you recommend above but I will.

I'm also going to give the Gupta retraining program a go. How much time a day did you spend using his techniques ? The reason I ask is that my wife and I are expecting twins in about 17 days time and I was hoping that I could squeeze in the retraining around feeding, nappy changing etc.

It's very encoraging to hear that you cured yourself. It may sound sad but I dream of the day when I can wear new clothes again.

All the best

Angus

Congratulations, Angus! We had twins too. (They are 23 now.)

You can do the basic technique anywhere, anytime.

Oh man, it is a great dream to have, to be able to wear new clothes again. That day will come. Don't give up!
