Dear Lady I

Many thanks for the encouragement. I'm going to buy the Gupta retraining program and start as soon as possible. Hopefuly get a bit of training in before the twins come.

I'll keep you updated via this forum and if I could ask for advice that would be much appreciated.

All the best

Angus

Congratulations on the twins Angus! Good luck with being a dad as well as with the Gupta program. Do let us know how you get on.

Lady I, thanks for a great overview of neural plasticity and the theory behind the Gupta program. I have yet to read Dr. Doidge's book but I know Annie Hopper also references him a lot and credits the foundations of her Dynamic Neural Retraining System (DNRS) program to his work. I will get a copy and put a review page up for it here in the near future.

I wanted to mention that meditation theoretically and experimentally has similar effects on reducing activation of the amygdala and could be expected to work much as programs such as those devised by the likes of Ashok Gupta and Annie Hopper do in the treatment of multi-system illnesses like MCS and ME/CFS. Search for "meditation amygdala" on Google Scholar - there are loads of interesting scientific papers on the subject. Just thought I'd mention it is an adjunct or alternative to the above programs. The bonus of meditation is that it's free ;)

Best of health to you both :)
