Discussion started by 1mslocum 9 years ago

After reading Dr. David Brownstein I am starting to take Iodine supplements, has anyone else tried this? How was it? I have only been taking it 3 days but believe there is good things happening....having die-off bad for the first 2 days, better now.

Certainly true marcus, there is a large amount of research showing the oils in the Origanum vulgare variety of oregano are potent antifungals. I've reported on some of these studies in the Information > News > Candida & Gut Dysbiosis section of the site. Peppermint oil is another essential oil that is highly effective at killing fungi/yeast.

Should meet your nutritional requirements for iodine (in a good form!) marcus but I think 1mslocum is talking about a high-dose regime that some have used with success for treating Candida and gut dysbiosis issues.

Hi there, welcome to the site and this group. There have been a lot of discussions and suggestions regarding iodine for Candida treatment in the community over the years. Here's a forum post I found just quickly. I'll add more when I have a bit more time:

I used a supplement with Kelp for 6 months or more and ended up with hyperthyroidism because of the iodine in it. I lost almost 30 pounds. I had heart palpitations, couldn't sleep, anxiety attacks etc. Too much iodine is not good for you. Be careful.
