Candida Vaccine: A Possible New Treatment Approach?
Those of us afflicted with chronic Candida-related illness know all too well how difficult it can be to treat. Antifungal drugs or natural alternatives, low carb Candida diets, probiotics....they may help for a while but most people end up relapsing at some point.
A press release I came across today certainly piqued my interest having failed over the past decade or so to get my own intestinal Candida/yeast overgrowth under control.
A pharmaceutical company named Pevion Biotech AG is developing a Candida vaccine known as PEV7. According to the press release it works by stimulating mucosal production of anti-Candida antibodies.
It has thus far proven to be very effective in treating and preventing recurrent vulvovaginal candidiasis (RVVC) in women. Since it illicits a Candida-specific mucosal immune response I would suspect it also does this in the gastrointestinal tract and would also help those of us with intestinal Candida overgrowth. How to get studies done on this when the condition is not recognised or to get a doctor to administer it is another matter...but definitely something to keep an eye on if you're running out if options!
Read the press release here.
You have opened yet another of one of the most important topics regarding MCS and the resolution of disease.
Saccharomyces cerevisiae is the yeast of bread and beer. There is another beer yeast but it is the cold-filtered kind and supposedly has not been modified too much. I replied on a post regarding the use of Inulin and stated that the substances for bacteriophages to replicate without the use of bacteria include: hydrolyzed milk protein (casein); B-vitamins; and YEAST EXTRACT.
The reason this is significant is that in the 1980s about the time that The Yeast Connection was about to come out, they were vaccinating gay men in trials with an experimental Hepatitis B vaccine that was developed from GMO yeast that produced the Hepatitis B Surface Antigen. HBSAg is a self-assembling molecule. This should raise the flags for those with Morgellons. Bread and Beer yeast is in nearly every prepared food. Make a list of labels that DON'T have Yeast Extract in them because the list will be shorter. This organism has been modified for the past 30 years. Of course S. cerevisiae is not Candida albicans but does it matter? Microbes exchange genes like teenage girls trade clothes. That is just in Nature. What no one is talking about is what is being purposely done in the lab.
This is why we can't get a foothold against organisms that seem to mutate as freely as the Borg change their shield frequencies.
All this to get to the point: The idea of a vaccine for candida is obscene in the extreme!
Vaccines were the root cause of the candida pathogenesis and now they want to inflict another vaccine?
Candida has morphed from a ubiquitous, innocuous dimorphic fungus to a flesh-eating monster in about a generation. Sure, mycophages can provoke pathogenicity and toxigenicity in fungus just as bacteriophages do in bacteria, but we are talking about something that is unprecedented in what I have studied as the history of the Natural world.
Given what is being promoted out of Japan as therapy for intractable yeast infections it appears that there are molecular switches that were engineered into these lab-created monsters so we are looking into finding out how to reverse the damage with simple means.
No problem, I found this Candida vaccine idea intriguing so given how difficult treatment can be I thought it was well worth sharing.
Many thanks for the information about the neutralisation techniques they use at the Burghwood Clinic. I will definitely look into this as an approach I could take to get around my intolerance of die-off symptoms. Anything that could make these symptoms manageable on a continuous basis so I can tolerate sustained antifungal treatment would be fantastic!
This is very interesting. Thanks for the info as always! When I was getting treatment at the Burghwood clinic, I also learned that they used neutralisation as a vaccine to treat candida and die off reactions. Thought it night be worth mentioning as I know you've struggled with addressing yours. May make die off a bit more manageable?
