Join us to Approach European Doctors for HPI as a Group: List of Interested Members

Discussion started by Maff 11 years ago

Hi All,

There has been discussion elsewhere in the group regarding the possibility of getting a group of interested members together so we can approach doctors together to ask that they perfrom HPI/FTT procedures for us. Many of us have had no luck approaching gastroenterologists individually so feel doing so as a group may carry more weight.

If you are interested in joining us please let us know by leaving a comment below.

N.B. It is European members that have shown an interest in this so far but if US members are also interested let me know and I will create a seperate discussion for you guys.

You need to be a member of this group before you can participate in this discussion.

I would very much want to try a fecal tansplant. I live in Belgium, but I am willing to travel to get it done. I read about the London hospital. But I think 4000£ is to expensive. Surely it must be possible to do this for less money. If anybody knows of a way to get this done somewhere . Please let me know.

Well I don't think we have it available in pill form yet but I received a very interesting email from a site visitor today.

Apparently a startup company in the US named Mikrobex is trying to push things along in this area. "Mikrobex’s goal is to .......offering health providers pre-screened stool in an easy-to-administer format."

I'm in too if they are willing to treat IBS-D and SIBO symptoms.

And thanks for sharing that link Tracy. Finally a clinic which is actually begining to offer this type treatment. I wonder what the clinic the Taymount clinic is actually treating with FT?

It seems that FT is finally begining to appear more and more. I hope Borody can put the perfect 'sample' it into a pill format sooner rather than later!

Thanks again!

Hi All

You can now get the contact details from a thread I started as I have now asked the owner of the place where they do FMT if I can give out his details.

The discussion thread is called "Clinic In UK Now Doing Faecal Microbiota Transplantation (FMT)" you should be able to get to it from this link:-

This naturopathic clinic in UK does colonic irrigation and is apparently now assisting with fecal transplant. Check out the link on the left side of the homepage.

I have posted this in another thread so I hope Maff does not mind me posting it here. I have found a clinic in the UK who have now started doing Faecal Microbioitic Transplants. If you send me a private message I will arrange for you to contact them.

I'm in.
I'm in Israel, but can come to Europe.

I suffer from crohn's and C difficile.

As I wrote at my other posts, the most improtant thing for me is- the quality of the donor
1. in the aspect of what he do have- that he should have a good diverse microbiome composition.
2. in the aspect of what he shouldn't have- he should undergo a very thorough screen with latest PCR and sequencing techniques to make sure he dosen't harbour other pathogens that can be transmitted to me.

Yellow im not sure if i did it the way Maff and others did it, I basically saw people doing enemas for UC or whatever it was and they were getting reliefs from their problems, so i thought what the hell and tried it. ( Bare in mind when i did this, my problems were TERRIBLE, never did anything expect what i had to do. Like i went too school but went home straight after etc etc...
It was a quite huge improvement i guess, but i think i fucked it up during the 2 weeks i spent with friends in different countries ( alcohol everyday, crap food etcetc)
Then again i couldn't preform the enimas very well so i dont think it had full effect... So not doing it again unless its done professionally by doctors

I’m based in Japan, but I’m British and still spend a fair bit of time in Europe - so I’d like to be considered part of this initiative. Happy to have my name put to it, or to do something more practical as required.

Thanks so much for setting this up Maff, I'm going to spread the word out and hopefully we'll get a lot more members. It's brilliant you've joined Alfredson, didn't realise you did the diy version, it must take a fair bit if nerve of well done. Pity it wasn't very successful but an improvent is an improvement.
Let's keep our fingers crossed we'll be the first of many to join here

I'm in aswell!
Also done home HPI, with some luck! Lasted over 1 summer, came back from a trip with some friends ( lots of alcohol and other crap for a week and ended up back where i started).
Wasent 100% good but slight improvement.

Only GI i've had luck with is an american one, he told me straight away after 1 email to just book an appointment, but its costly and far away, not sure if i can afford it.
Havent even found an email or a number to a EU GI thats doing Bacteriotherapy...

Well I'll get the ball rolling here - I'm in!

Tried HPI at home and had no luck but still feel it is a worthy therapy and more likely to be successful under a gastroenterologist experienced with the procedure.
